We recently connected with Séamus Osiris and have shared our conversation below.
Séamus, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
I woke up when I was a young child and remembered the purpose I came to Earth for at that time. I have lived it ever since.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I mentor young men and women who are in an awakening process and need help navigating life on planet Earth. Many souls have converge at this pivotal time in human history with important work to do in helping the species evolve into a state of higher consciousness. This is no easy task and many of these sensitive souls are heavily burdened with the everyday demands of modern society. They’re often gifted people who don’t fit in and have a hard time coping with a planet that does not support human needs. This is where I come in… to help them meet those needs, remember their path, and acquire solutions to the problems they face.
I help these people through one-on-one sessions, monthly programs, and mentorship circles. And I am beginning to share knowledge through social media channels now also.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
PERSONAL (HOLISTIC) HEALTH
Advice: Build the habit of daily self-care like your life and business depend on it, because they do. Exercise, meditation, tracking and/or journaling, positive self-talk, eating well, and therapeutic services and practices that deal with the trauma that blocks consistency in any of the above.
SELF-DISCIPLINE
Advice: Get comfortable with discomfort. Only by doing hard things consistently can you build the resilience to get through the hard times. Discomfort is one of your greatest allies. Do things you don’t want to do (like exercise, work on your business, etc.) often, even if it’s just 5 minutes, because doing what you need to do only when you feel like it is not going to cut it, and pay the price of the apathy, depression, and physical health problems that come with staying too comfortable isn’t worth it.
SELF-AWARENESS
Build self-awareness asap. Whether it’s through meditation, breathing practices, etc. develop the ability to get present with yourself. Without the ability to be present and aware of your habits, the stories you tell yourself, the internal dialogue you’re engaging in, and your beliefs about yourself (and life as a whole) you will suffer the consequences of victimhood, denialism, existential confusion, and disempowerment. Without self-awareness, you rob yourself of life’s greatest gifts.
What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?
When I start to feel overwhelmed, I first interrupt the inner dialogue or story that ensues. Before a story of self-judgment or victimhood can creep into my mind in response to the overwhelm, I pattern-interrupt this thinking with a brisk walk, a cold shower, a workout, or a specific kind of journaling practice I use. Then, I move toward one thing that I know I must do (that’s contributing to my overwhelm) and tell myself I only need to do 5 minutes of that thing and then I can reward myself with something. That 5 minutes usually amounts to more minutes, and I soon find myself actually dealing with one of the contributing factors to my overwhelm.
And if the overwhelm has already taken a hold of me and I feel somewhat paralyzed by it, I breathe, feel the feeling, and lean on a friend. I have them sit with me or be present on the phone with me and coach me through a task I’m resisting. A task which, if I complete it or at least get started on it, will begin to diminish my overwhelm and make life feel doable again.
