Meet Sean Moore

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Sean Moore a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Sean, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?

My work ethic came from my father, my brother in-law and his father. I spent my teenage and young adult years with these 3 men. They instilled in me a work ethic to a level where still today I will work anyone and everyone under the table. Not just from an effort level but from loving what you do so that it is not work. The saying “If I did this for the money alone, I wouldn’t do it at all” sums up my belief system in making sure we all choose careers that we love. I couldn’t imaging spending my days at a “job”.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I just celebrated 20 years in real estate helping people buy, sell and invest in a piece of the American Dream. This alone is very rewarding however teaching others the craft is even more so. I feel we all owe it to our respective industries to leave them better than we found them. I invest my time and money in my industry volunteering at the local, state and national level. I recruit those around me to get involved beyond just serving our clients.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Start from day one with systems. Learn them, use them and live by them. My industry is nothing but Independent Contractors (aka unemployed freelancers). I work with seasoned agents every day who have been in the business for decades yet they have no systems… I live and die by my CRM (Customer Relation Management Software), my Calendar and many other programs.

What would you advise – going all in on your strengths or investing on areas where you aren’t as strong to be more well-rounded?

One of the best things I have ever done in business is to partner with my weaknesses. I am a strong believer in the DISC Personality Assessment. I believe we all should know who we are and those around us. Everyone I partner with is given this Assessment upfront. I even use software that assesses my clients over time so I know who they are as well. My team fills my gaps and I fill theirs!

Where do you get your work ethic from?

We’ve all heard the phrase “work hard, play hard,” but where does our work ethic
