Meet Sebastian Garcia

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Sebastian Garcia. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Sebastian , thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?

Since I was little my life has been an ever changing roller coaster that’s constantly presenting new obstacles in new shapes and forms. I am actually from the neighboring country, Mexico (Ciudad Juarez). Coming here as a kid presented the challenge of having to learn a new language, lifestyle, and culture that quickly made me realize adaptability and constantly jumping from problem to problem was going to be a huge skill in my new life in this country.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I am actually an actor. I’ve been lucky enough and really blessed to have booked 7 projects in the past few months. Every single project means a lot to me due to the fact that I’m constantly meeting new people and developing my skills. I also get the opportunity to expand my name (Sebastian Garcia) slowly, but surely. Actually, being on set and using that mentality of seeing every moment as learning lesson pushed me and my brother (Gabriel Garcia) to write, film, produce, and direct our own short film “Spiritual Awakening” that will soon be available on YouTube and screened in movie festivals. Acting was definitely my focus this year. I am a singer as well. I currently don’t have a track out but soon you’ll be able to stream “Ghost Story Remix” with Ivy Magaña and my solo debut single sometime after. I am really thankful with Ivy for trusting me with this song and our take on it. This fills me up with gratitude and excited for next year!

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

I definitely believe wisdom, adaptability, and versatility are the most important ones. When you begin working and mastering what you love you gain a precious knowledge that pushes all of us a step further. The world is super fast paced and it’s not slowing down, knowing how you can adapt and adjust to what’s coming will definitely put you a step ahead tho. My advice would be to stand your ground and be ambitious with what you want. Don’t speak for yourself, let your actions & achievements speak for you.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?

Straight up, Selena Gomez. She’s just a really empowered person. I often take inspiration from her. When I was a kid and came to the United States, Wizards of Waverly Place was airing on Disney channel and that was my escape from my harsh reality. I’d binge watch it 24/7 with my siblings. I actually got to meet David Deluise, who plays Jerry Russo in Wizards of Waverly Place during the summer and film a project together in Los Angeles and it was a whole full circle moment. I am very blessed to have experienced that. It was a small reminder that everything happens in due time just keep going. Other than that I am always open to collaborating with anyone that has a passion for what they are doing and I can learn from them. It be pretty sick to release a few more remixes and be on more projects. So if you’re reading this shoot me a message through instagram or send me an email and we could arrange something.
