Meet Seijiro Nishina

We were lucky to catch up with Seijiro Nishina recently and have shared our conversation below.

Seijiro, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?

Through my life from very negative childhood to become a psychotherapist as I am, I stopped taking a victim position in my life which created by my negative conclusion of myself as “I am failure” when I grew up and experienced severe abuses etc. This happened in the form of transformation to work on my deep ego and shadow part of myself in the gradual steps. It was interesting to be aware that, when I worked more on myself, I became close to feel of big nature including animals, especially deers and spiritual connection such as feeling of presence with higher self and gods which made me to feel and experience going beyond myself. Then, I sensed that the balance between ego self and spiritual self is the most important factor as a human being to reach out to my purpose of living. In the balance, I was guided by inner knowing to heal others and the world as my pleasure. I am happy to witness other’s transformation through the process of being aware, healing and growing which is my deep sense of purpose of my life

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I am an English/Japanese speaking psychotherapist as well as a spiritual counselor to support and heal others. I am a founder of International Lifecycle Family Therapy to provide individual, couple and family therapy to work with various clients including but not limited to anxious/depressive/trauma clients, international marriage couples and families, etc. I have been a therapist over 15 years, and has continued learning about how to promote changes in people’s mind, and reached out the approach of subconscious therapy such hypnotherapy, RoHun therapy, breath work, etc. These therapy approaches naturally guided me to touch, feel, and experience of higher self and spiritual connection to promote deeper healing process in me and others. I am planning to have a workshop or group work to reach out more people at this point.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

One of the biggest areas of knowledge is to know, utilize and master subconscious mind that all have. I usually tell people including clients that “mindset is everything and reality comes later”. Then, how to create mindset is to utilize own image and creativities as human being only ability. In addition, another important aspect under subconscious mind is to connect something else that goes beyond self such as the power of higher self, spirituality, and connecting to bigger nature even universe. Then, the last important quality is to make balance in your life like the universe and nature have been maintained by the big balance. My suggestion is to work on self at deeper subconscious level, knowing higher power energy and maintaining the harmony of the balance of universe.

Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?

In case when I feel overwhelmed, I usually meditate for a while to get touch or cultivate my inner resources such as imaging and experiencing my favorite places, animals, my admire people, mature adult, and spiritual connection to feel safe and grounded as well as getting inner guidance from those resources. We usually have emotional reactions toward situation and people as natural instinctive reactions, but creates more negative consequences later. So, getting touch with inner resources creates more responses in mind rather than being reactive emotionally. Also, in physical reactions of being overwhelmed, it creates a shock state (either sympathetic or parasympathetic), and it is very important to take care of physical body sensation first by checking own breathing and body reactions to the situation.
