Hi Sepideh, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
Finding purpose is a lifelong journey, and it can be fluid and change as we grow and evolve.
I realized early on that I have a passion for leaving others moved and inspired – through creating transformative experiences. As a corporate event planner, it touched me to be able to witness the positive impact of curating unique experiences and events globally to leave others in an elevated state of being.
Like many others, I struggled during Covid and became aware of the collective fragility of human beings – Embracing a growth mindset allowed me to expand my horizons, and discover new passions, and evolve personally and professionally.
Dawn of the Earth was born during covid to cultivate holistic wellness . In Farsi, Sepideh means ‘Dawn.’ It was my grandmother who planted the seed of my lifelong love for the practice of wellness. At an early age, she showed me the importance of herbs for the mind, body, and soul. Drawing inspiration from traditional tea blending practices and their own creative intuition, I curate exquisite tea blends that are not only delightful to the senses but also offer unique health benefits. I kept continuing my education by becoming a Somatic Breathwork practitioner to transformative power of holistic wellness. I am a recognized member of the Breathe Initiative at Global Wellness Institute where we educate and impact others by sharing the power of breathwork to empower the body and nervous system, by allowing an individual to have access to an inner and elevated state of being through a guided breathwork.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
My passion for planning corporate events globally (Director of Global Events with Elevated Meeting Solutions) and being an advocate for wellness led me to embark on a journey of creation. I have a pioneer spirit for holistic wellness and Dawn of the Earth is a unique platform that combines the healing modalities of Somatic Breathwork and the art of tea blending. With a deep understanding of the mind-body connection and a commitment to supporting individuals on their wellness journeys.
Herbs and Tea were a big part of my life, introduced at an early age by my grandmother in Iran. Her recipes inspired me to give birth to Dawn of the Earth during Covid. What began as a tea company evolved into a wellness company as I introduced Somatic Breathwork, and EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques). I believe that conscious breathing is a powerful tool for unlocking one’s potential, releasing emotional blockages, and cultivating a profound sense of self-awareness. With a compassionate and nurturing approach as I create a safe and supportive space for clients to explore their inner landscapes, heal past traumas, and tap into their innate wisdom. Somatic Breathwork is a powerful medicine that we hold within for connecting with the nervous system, allowing the body to locate and identify areas where there are trapped emotions caused by instinctual defense mechanisms, commonly known as the FIGHT, FLIGHT, or FREEZE response.
I believe wellness is not a destination but a journey as I intend to impact far beyond individual transformation. I am a tireless advocate for collective healing and social change. By integrating my passion for tea and Breathwork, I have created initiatives that promote community well-being and environmental sustainability. From partnering with fair-trade suppliers to supporting local farmers, and planting trees I am committed to ethical sourcing practices that benefit both people and the planet. Through my work, I am committed to inspire individuals to embrace conscious consumption and make choices that contribute to a more harmonious world. I am dedicated to sharing my knowledge and expertise through workshops, retreats, and personalized sessions, empowering individuals to embark on their own transformative journeys of self-discovery, healing, and self-care.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Compassion and Empathy: Breathwork can be a deeply transformative and emotional experience for individuals. Having compassion and empathy allowed to hold a safe and non-judgmental space for my clients to explore and release their emotions, traumas, and blockages. Being able to meet clients where they are and provide support with kindness and understanding is vital.
Active Listening and Communication Skills: Each client is unique, and their wellness needs may vary. Effective communication is crucial in any healing practice. Holistic wellness practitioners need to be skilled in active listening, which involves fully focusing on the client, understanding their concerns, and responding thoughtfully. Through active listening I am able to curate the custom-made tea blends by listening to each individual’s likes/dislikes to be able to provide a blend that serves their body. Also It involves being fully present and attentive to my clients’ verbal and non-verbal expressions, emotions, and experiences during the Somatic breathwork sessions. Deep listening allows me to understand their needs, concerns, and intentions.
Self-Care and Personal Wellness: As a practitioner, having an integrity to prioritize my own self-care and personal wellness is vital to me. Keeping myself accountable to walk the talk by taking care of my own physical, mental, and emotional well-being enables me to serve my clients and community and enhances my ability to facilitate deep healing and transformational experiences.
My advice :
Practice Self-Reflection: Engage in regular self-reflection to deepen your understanding of yourself and your own healing journey. By developing self-awareness you are able to identify your strengths, areas for growth, and personal biases that may impact your work.
It involves keeping your word and promises with others and yourself. To remain consistent in and participate in life is a powerful way of being. And to believe we can make the impossible, possible. This happens by creating opportunities and possibilities around the “impossible.” Most importantly, community matters! surround yourself with people who believe in leaving the planet better that they found it and build together. We are always better together!
What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?
I am forever grateful to my parents for the sacrifices they have made for my sister and I to have a better life. They gave us an opportunity to move to the United States from Iran at a young age to follow our dreams. Giving us an opportunity to live in an environment where we had no community and support system as they stayed back home. Yet, they trusted us to build our lives and follow our dreams. I often find that selfless and difficult decision changed our lives forever.
