Meet Seth Felder

We were lucky to catch up with Seth Felder recently and have shared our conversation below.

Seth, thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?

Resilience as a DJ comes from a mix of mindset, experience, and passion. The profession demands adaptability, creativity, and emotional endurance — especially when facing unpredictable crowds, technical issues, or the pressure of constant performance.
I have a genuine love and passion for music, all music and after performing regularly for years (middle school I was DJing High school parties, High school i was DJing College parties, then Collage got my LLC and went Wedding and Corporate. Working with mentors and the drive to be more built emotional endurance in me. Handling unexpected moments — such as a quiet crowd, equipment failure, or last-minute set changes — have all taught me composure and quick problem-solving.
Mental and Physical Discipline is a much harder tackle. Long nights, travel, and irregular schedules require stamina and an abundance of communication if you have a family like i do. The wife still gets on my case about what time am i coming home or why cant you do this Saturday kids thing. The family calendar REALLY helps. I try to add fitness and structured routines that preserve energy and focus during my non performance days.
I guess ultimately my resilience grows from the balance between passion and persistence.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

My core mission is to create a stable, full-time ecosystem for the four talented DJs on my team, while delivering exceptional audiovisual experiences for both corporate and cultural events. This balance between artistry and professionalism is a fun fine line.
I like to focus on Cultural Events – *Mitzvahs, Quinceañeras, and Weddings:*
These events rely on cultural sensitivity, musical versatility, and emotional connection. My team’s ability to tailor playlists and production to diverse traditions is a major competitive strength.
I also come from a Corporate Audiovisual Services background. – Providing sound, lighting, and multimedia support for conferences, galas, and product launches. – Offering full-service event production — from setup and technical operation to post-event breakdown — enhancing the value to business clients.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge:
People matter if you cant connect, enjoy, love people you wont go very far as a event DJ. Basic audio is key, where does the music start, how does the signal physically get to the exit point where people can listen. Image and perception matter if this is your job. There is always someone more skilled so check the ego at the door a learn your skill strengths.

Who is your ideal client or what sort of characteristics would make someone an ideal client for you?

My ideal client is a professional, culturally aware individual or organization that values **quality, precision, and collaboration** above all else. They understand that great events are built on trust, communication, and shared vision — not just budget. They are driven by the desire to create meaningful, well-executed experiences — whether for a milestone celebration or a corporate event — and they appreciate working with professionals who share that same commitment to excellence.
– They prioritize *craftsmanship, sound quality, and atmosphere* over price.
– They understand that expert DJs, reliable equipment, and professional coordination create lasting impact.
– They view our services as a partnership, not a transaction.
– They believe punctuality and preparation are non-negotiable.
– They respond promptly, provide clear information, and expect the same in return.
– They appreciate efficiency — things must be done *correctly, quickly, and on schedule.*
– For Mitzvahs, Quinceañeras, or multicultural weddings, they care deeply about authenticity and respect for tradition.
– They expect my team to understand the nuances of each event type and to tailor the experience accordingly.
– They see cultural celebration as both personal and communal — something to be honored, not generalized.
