Meet Sethy Books

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Sethy Books. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Sethy, thank you for being such a positive, uplifting person. We’ve noticed that so many of the successful folks we’ve had the good fortune of connecting with have high levels of optimism and so we’d love to hear about your optimism and where you think it comes from.

For me, optimism is a choice a perspective of abundance no matter the situation. I think if one challenged themselves to observe the Universe and their lives in relation to it, they would observe the only real fact we can all agree on from the micro to the macro is; the Universe & Life is Abundant. So choosing Optimism is In accordance with the actual energy of source, The Universe. If one allows oneself to linger on thoughts of “having less” or “I can’t do it” then certainly the results of that kind of thinking will be in disharmony with what the universe is and wants which if you ask me is abundance. I have had many personal experiences in my life where my perspective was challenged and the hard times often felt like the opposite of abundance. In those times without realizing it My mental perspective was choosing to focus on the lack or deficit I was experiencing. Those challenging times only and always, disappeared, when I realized even the conflict or trouble I was facing was the Abundance of the universe. what I mean by that is there really is no good or bad just more an more and how we reflect ourselves against or with the constant flow of energies from the universe is a choice And if one chooses Optimism & Abundance at all times or at least when capable then that person is gonna have one hell of a great Life!!

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

What i do is seek Joy in all my actions, which is sometimes harder than one might think.
When asked how I define myself professionally?
I say, as a songwriter although I am also a narrative prose writer as well & I work as a professional production consultant,

Currently as a songwriter and music producer I am published under many names, (Sethy Books / Seth Pilipski / Superflo) you can find my work on all streaming platforms. Some of the titles have physical releases with cd’s and vinyl in your local record store or in the produce aisle at the supermarket!! This year I am finishing up new works and poised to release four different projects with three different artist (Cre8tive_MC / Xan Louis / Superflo). The artist are all NJ based and already doing amazing things on the local east coast scene. So working on these projects and being part of them has been really exciting. With the artist Xan Louis, we’ll be releasing a record of amazing piano driven ballads of which I wrote and produced, slated for release early fall and a performance video to support the record currently being considered for rebroadcast on NPR’s Tiny Desk. The work with Cre8Tive MC is an ambient rock driven hip hop single to be released as a B-side on Cre8tive MC next album release in 2025. I will also be releasing another Sethy Books record for 2025 and a record recorded with my original rock band Superflo. I have been working hard in the last year to bring all of these projects into the world and share them for 2025.

As a Narrative Prose writer publish under the pen name Seth Christoph I have recently released a Sci-fi mystery Book titled “The Exquisite Corpse” that was co-written with my Father Mark Philip Stone. Its is available thru the Publisher Markov Press and being distributed thru Barnes and Noble on their website and in all of their in-store locations. We are currently scheduled throughout the east coast on a tour of various book conventions and speaking commitments to promote the book and discuss the process of a shared writing project between a Father and Son.

As a production Consultant, I have been filling a role at Bren Bri Properties in Little Falls NJ for 13 plus years.
Helping build and sustain one of the Metropolitan areas most prolific Theatrical Fabrication & Services companies on the east coast. On top of continuing to serve Broadway’s Theatre district and NYC’s robust Film industry By fabricating and creating many of the props and scenic pieces for stage and film. We are currently expanding our role to facilitate Major and Indie film productions as a Small Backlot Studio space for practical filming and we are honored to be part of the growing film Industry here in New Jersey.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

three very important principles to achieve your goals are Discipline, Confidence and respect.

Discipline to me is, Doing the thing you don’t want to do when you don’t want to do it.
it’s not easy to show up for yourself and be uncomfortable. But when I apply discipline and put my head down and do the hard or dirty work even when I don’t want to. I find that I usually get the result I need and my self esteem grows in a positive direction.

Confidence to me is, Believing in yourself no matter what others opinion may be. If you can hold true to your vision no matter the criticism of others or their opinion that what you believe is foolish than you can keep achieving and moving towards your goals while others only keep criticizing and stay stuck in their complacency.

Respect is simple, it’s the golden rule, “Do unto others as you would have done unto yourself” but I believe if you are being disrespected you must simply walk away. No need to explain yourself to someone who does not see your value or appreciate what you add to the equation. If you keep these type of people away from you, your chances of success rise exponentially.

What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?

My Parents showed me unconditional love and respect in some of the most dark and challenging moments of my life. They did not require me to change or chastise me for making mistakes instead they simply said “I love and respect you and if your decisions and the way you are living your life is working for you (when it clearly was not) Then continue to be who you are” “But if it’s not working for you then start doing things that will make you move into the direction you see yourself being in”. This message was carried to me by both my mother and father and father in separate moments and at one of the lowest points of my life. The freedom and permission to continue to be as I was, (even though who I was then was a danger to myself due to Drug Addiction) and still know that someone Loved me unconditionally was enough of a challenge to me to actually Love myself just as much if not more than my parents love me. I used their acceptance and Love for me as a catalyst to begin to understand that Love is an inside job and respect only follows when one is capable of self respect and self love. We are all worth everything we can dream of achieving, to be able to believe that and emobiode that spirit sometimes you just need to see it reflected back at you through someone else. My parents did that for me.
