Music has been ingrained in me since childhood. My brother’s own musical journey sparked my curiosity, leading me into the enchanting world of melodies and rhythms. From that moment, I knew my destiny was intertwined with music, and the rest, as they say, is history.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
As a DJ with seven years of experience, I’ve embarked on a thrilling journey that goes beyond just playing tunes. I founded the electrifying party series, ‘No Bad Energy,’ with a vision to bridge the musical cultures of Nigeria and New York. This fusion of sounds represents my heritage and the vibrant spirit of the city that never sleeps. Transitioning into music production has been incredibly fulfilling, and I’m excited to unveil my creations soon. Additionally, I’m eagerly gearing up for an upcoming tour alongside Ayra Starr and Chris Brown, where I’ll bring my unique energy to stages across North America.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
For those at the beginning of their journey, I can’t stress enough the importance of humility. Remaining humble keeps you open to continuous learning opportunities. When it comes to honing your song selection skills, constantly expanding your music library is key. As for reading the crowd, immerse yourself in diverse social settings to better understand different audience preferences and reactions. Don’t be afraid to study various demographics; each experience adds depth to your ability to connect with people through music.
What has been your biggest area of growth or improvement in the past 12 months?
What has been your most significant area of growth or advancement in the past year? Over the last 12 months, I’ve dedicated myself to mastering the intricacies of social media. While I’m not exactly old, I found navigating the ever-evolving landscape of platforms to be quite challenging. However, recognizing its indispensable role in today’s world, I’ve made considerable strides in understanding its dynamics and leveraging its potential. From creating engaging content to showcasing my DJing skills to a wider audience, I’ve embraced social media as a powerful tool for connecting with fans and sharing my passion with those who may not have the chance to experience it live.
