Meet Shachi Srivastava

We recently connected with Shachi Srivastava and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Shachi, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
Resilience, to me, comes from embracing our uniqueness and inner strength during adversities. True empowerment surfaces when we approach each day as a blessing, radiate positivity to those around us, and move forward with a smile, regardless of the challenges we face. In moments of feeling lost, my mother’s resilience has been a guiding force, urging me to persist and work patiently towards the light at the end of the tunnel

My journey took an unexpected turn in 2010 when I relocated to the US, leaving behind a career in a prestigious organization. The subsequent 11-year sabbatical marked a profound transformation. Immersed in my passion for the arts, I expressed my emotions on canvas, and started gaining recognition for my work. It has been
Today, I stand before you to share my story of resilience and perseverance.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
As an artist, I firmly believe that colors serve as messengers of happiness, touching every soul and delighting the eyes. Finding beauty in the simplicity of our surroundings, I strive to recreate it using various mediums and art styles. My creations draw deep inspiration from the Madhubani art form, native to the region of my origin in India. The profound, intricate details within these paintings and artworks captivate me.

Driven by an insatiable curiosity, I am dedicated to learning, excelling, and mastering the skills aligned with my creative vision. My artistic journey is marked by a particular fondness for crafting vibrant and colorful pieces using acrylic medium, pens and markers, and mixed media. My goal is to spread joy, beauty, and smiles through the vibrant color palette in my artwork.

With a keen eye for detail and a heart brimming with creativity, I embark on the journey of customizing paintings. Listening intently to the client’s desires, I delicately weave their visions into the fabric of my artistic expression, ensuring every stroke resonates with authenticity and meaning.
Through the art of customization, I strive to encapsulate the essence of individuality, offering a timeless treasure that speaks volumes without uttering a single word. It’s a celebration of uniqueness, a symphony of colors and emotions, and a legacy that will endure for generations to come.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
I started painting as a hobby which soon transitioned into passion. My three pillars of strengths were perseverance, consistency and practice. When I started, I used to practice art everyday and was ready to accept all kinds of feedback both critical and appreciative. Each and every feedback was my step closer to my dreams. I am still learning and growing each day. My advice is to never give up, believe in yourself because if you think you can, you most definitely will.

Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?
As someone who embraces spirituality, both The Bhagavad Gita and The Secret by Rhonda Byrne stand as pillars of strength and endless fountains of wisdom in my life. The Bhagavad Gita, often hailed as the “Song of the Divine,” offers timeless guidance that transcends the limitations of time and space. Within its verses lie profound insights into the nature of existence, life’s purpose, and the journey toward inner peace and fulfillment.

The teachings of the Bhagavad Gita have provided me with practical guidance for navigating life with meaning and purpose. They have inspired me to pursue excellence while remaining rooted in wisdom and compassion. In times of darkness, the Gita serves as a guiding light, helping me discover my inner strengths and navigate the complexities of existence.

Similarly, The Secret has been a source of inspiration, encouraging me to embrace the power of positivity and gratitude. Its uplifting message reminds me that the universe is on our side and that with faith, intention, and perseverance, we can achieve anything. Through its actionable insights, The Secret reinforces the belief that our thoughts shape our reality, empowering me to manifest my dreams into existence.
