Meet Shannon Bohnen

We were lucky to catch up with Shannon Bohnen recently and have shared our conversation below.

Shannon , so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.

I made it a point to work on developing my self-esteem, and it started back in college. I was a Student Leader, which is pretty much a glorified work study gig, but we went to Washington, D.C. and went on retreats and I loved being a part of something bigger than myself – actually helping drive the success of the student body at Valencia College in Orlando. We had an exercise where we picked a goal and karate chopped a 2×4 in half as instructed by a judo master and that was my goal: to become confident. You could throw the board away when you realized your dream. It took a few years, but I finally was able to throw the board away.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I am focused on being my clients’ go-to IT, email, website builder, troubleshooter and all around marketing guru they can turn to to update their site, launch an email marketing campaign or communicate with their own customers and clients.

My story starts around the time I was 10 years old and had tons of time to learn how to download songs and create custom CDs for friends for $1, making HTML websites and stealing bandwidth – unintentionally.

I made mistakes, but that’s how I learned to formulate my own opinions and generate ideas on the spot!

The Fancy Clam brand is special because we care about environment, we’re nice to our neighbors and we’re a family. It all started back in 2016 when my husband and I came up with the idea!

We would like to host events at local breweries, restaurants and coffee shops if people are interested. Whether you want to learn email marketing or just want to hang out and play chess. Let’s be friends!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Curiosity, tenacity and SEO are our strongest suits. If you’re curious, you won’t stop until you find the answer, which is kind of what being tenacious is all about. And we do know about SEO from experience over the years and reading tons of articles about it constantly. We live inside analytics, so it’s kind of our homebase.

Don’t be afraid to follow where your own questions take you. And keep trying SEO! You have nothing to lose, except time and maybe a bunch of space on your Trello, Hubspot or calendar to remind you to check your rankings…

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

If you’re creative, a foodie, an artist or a Mpls-Stp local, let’s sync up! We have ideas for podcasts and YouTube channels to interview local businesses, so send us an email at [email protected] if you’re interested.
