Meet Shanti Grossman

We recently connected with Shanti Grossman and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Shanti, so great to have you on the platform. There’s so much we want to ask you, but let’s start with the topic of self-care. Do you do anything for self-care and if so, do you think it’s had a meaningful impact on your effectiveness?

As a entrepreneur and a mom, self-care is so important and also so hard to fit in! I try to carve out small, meaningful moments throughout the day—just like the ones my coloring books are designed to create. Whether it’s waking up at 4:45 to fit my morning work out in, coloring a quick page from our mini coloring books during stressful part of my day, stepping outside for fresh air, or simply pausing for a few deep breaths, those micro-breaks help reset my nervous system and bring me back to center. Prioritizing that kind of care has made me more focused, creative, and resilient—especially as a business owner juggling a million moving parts.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

A Brighter Year creates mini coloring books and stationery designed to help busy, overwhelmed adults reset and recharge—one simple page at a time. Our products are made for quick, calming moments during the day, using bold, easy illustrations that support stress relief, focus, and mindfulness. Whether you’re anxious, ADHD, or just over it, we’re here to make your day a little brighter—no art skills (or spare hours) required.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Looking back, the three qualities that have had the biggest impact on my journey are dedication, being a lifelong learner, and thinking creatively to solve problems. Dedication kept me going during the slow early years and helped me stay grounded through the highs and lows of growing a business. Embracing lifelong learning meant I was never afraid to try new tools, platforms, or strategies—like diving headfirst into TikTok Shop and figuring it out along the way. And creative problem-solving has been the heartbeat of A Brighter Year—from designing products that meet real emotional needs to finding scrappy, inventive ways to scale without losing our soul.

Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?

When I feel overwhelmed, I take a few long, calming breaths, step outside for a moment of fresh air, or color a quick page. Just a few minutes can shift everything—it’s about resetting, not powering through.
