We caught up with the brilliant and insightful ShaQuita Pope-.Maxwell a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
ShaQuita, first a big thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and insights with us today. I’m sure many of our readers will benefit from your wisdom, and one of the areas where we think your insight might be most helpful is related to imposter syndrome. Imposter syndrome is holding so many people back from reaching their true and highest potential and so we’d love to hear about your journey and how you overcame imposter syndrome.
First and foremost, imposter syndrome is a personal choice. I’ve always stood flat foot and bold knowing whose I was, and who I was called to be. I never ran from my calling, I just walk in it.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I am an Author, Goal Success Coach, Motivator, Connector, and Networking Specialist.. I recently released my 3rd Journal entitled It’s our B.A.G Season (Bragging About God). I am currently traveling doing interviews and appearing on several platforms as a Motivational Speaker.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Three qualities or skills that I’ve found to be helpful are: Effective communication, understanding the importance of collaboration and knowing every coach needs a coach and every mentor needs a mentor. It’s perfectly ok to seek help. My advice for up and coming entrepreneurs is to perfect their craft. Take more classes, connect with others that’s in your field, and believe in you!! It doesn’t matter his many people do what you do, they still can’t do it like you.
One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
I’m always looking for ladies to connect and collaborate with. You can’t get anywhere in this world alone. I’m looking for genuine, honest, dependable. Dedicated Female Entrepreneurs.
