We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Sharmila Hall a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Sharmila , thank you so much for joining us. You are such a positive person and it’s something we really admire and so we wanted to start by asking you where you think your optimism comes from?
My optimism? It’s really rooted in my background and childhood. I was incredibly fortunate to grow up in a family that always nudged me to see the glass as half full. This positive upbringing kind of wired me to be an optimist. And, you know, on days when things get a bit heavy, I turn to meditation and similar stuff to lift my spirits. For me, staying optimistic isn’t just a feel-good choice; it’s essential. It’s like, if we can picture our dreams vividly, we’re halfway to making them a reality. That’s the power of a positive mindset, and it’s something I carry with me in everything I do.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
Absolutely. I’d like to share about my core driving force, my company. When I think about SMB Global Marketing, it’s not just a business to me; it’s more like a mission.
A mission that’s all about leveling the playing field for every business out there, no matter its size. We’re big believers in the idea that every company deserves a shot at top-notch marketing strategies, not just the cookie-cutter stuff, but plans that truly resonate with their unique story and goals.
What really sets us apart at SMB Global Marketing is this: we’re not just about offering services; we’re about forging partnerships. We dive deep into understanding our clients, their aspirations, and challenges. It’s all about ensuring that each one of them gets to realize their vision of success. So, for anyone getting to know us for the first time, here’s the gist – our approach is a mix of real passion, hard-earned experience, and a firm belief in fair chances for all in the digital market.
At the end of the day, SMB Global Marketing is more than just a name or a company. It’s our way of contributing to a world where every business, big or small, has what it takes to thrive. That’s what excites us every day – the chance to make that difference.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
In reflecting on my professional journey, three elements stand out as pivotal: perseverance, sales acumen, and continuous learning in business growth.
Perseverance has been essential. Whether facing challenges or waiting for results, the key is patience and consistent effort. Things eventually happen if you stay the course.
My background in sales has been invaluable. It taught me about persistence and the importance of setting clear goals. Sales is not just about transactions; it’s about understanding and achieving objectives.
Regarding business growth, continuous learning is absolutely essential. The business world is always evolving, especially in the field of marketing. Keeping up with the latest knowledge and trends is vital. That’s why I’ve dedicated myself to a routine of continual learning, reading, and staying engaged with the latest developments every single day. This approach not only keeps me sharp but also ensures that my global marketing agency stays ahead of the curve, offering the most relevant and effective strategies in this dynamic industry.
To those starting their journey, my advice is to embrace continuous learning, persist through challenges, and remember that success often takes time to manifest. The journey itself is as significant as the destination.
As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?
Robert Kiyosaki’s books have been instrumental in shaping my professional journey. ‘Rich Dad Poor Dad’ influenced my understanding of financial literacy and the potential of passive income streams, teaching me the value of viewing money and assets through an entrepreneurial lens.
But another Kiyosaki book that resonated with me even more is ‘Before You Quit Your Job’. This book was pivotal, offering page after page of insights about building a successful business. It goes beyond just hard work; it delves into the smart strategies and financial understanding essential for entrepreneurship. Each chapter provided practical ideas and inspired me to think creatively about business growth and management.
