Hi Shatoine , we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?
My confidence and self esteem strongly came from my upbringing . From small my mother raised me to always be confident in myself and all I do . She always poured into me positively , always was there believing and pushing me to be the best I can be . As I got older and chose the career path I am in , I realized the importance of having high self esteem and confidence would be the way to succeed in my field . It’s always a characteristic many amongst me compliment and share that they are inspired , which continued to drive me to carry that into the world .
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I am growing artist , meaning as I continue to thrive in my skills I am always capable to make my creative abilities profitable. I am mainly known for my makeup artistry skills and spreading awareness towards self love and confidence . I do a lot of work also spread my love for my Carribean culture , by partaking in throwing events here in the city . I travel as a makeup artist through the Carribean to do makeup for carnival , model and am currently in the works of launching a cosmetic line that will feature natural products to enhance the natural beauty we possess.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
My ability to adapt in any environment, and my way of working with people of all backgrounds I believe has played a huge impact on my journey . The advice I continue to give is to always stay true to self , to follow your path and always keep faith . Days are going to be hard , but a high faith will always break through the hardest days .
Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?
My family , my mentor in makeup and closest of friends have been the most helpful in overcoming all I do . I have a strong foundation of many people who always push and believe in my success .
