We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Shaun ” Arashi” SupaNova a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Shaun ” Arashi” , really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
Simple answer, i followed my heart. Those things that i loved to do over and over again that benifited not only myself but other peiople, helped me understand what my porpuse was.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
So I’ll list my artistic loves first; I am a painter, a model, a designer, an actor, a writer, a singer, and a musician. I wrote and published my first novel “Arashi: Prince of the Sky” in 2021. I also took my music production and acting skills to produce the audiobook to the novel which I released in 2022 as well as the soundtrack and my second album called “No Fear Lives Here”.
My entire drive behind my artistic works is healing. Healing yourself to heal the world and I want my art to reflect freedom and the power of love and loving yourself. I also designed my own Clothing brand called “Spirit Gym” Exclusively on Etsy. My designs can be described as anime-inspired woke athletic wear. Staying fit in mind, body and spirit is the foundation for a balanced healthy person.
In addition to those things, I am also a teacher and certified Massage Therapist.
My book and everything else can be found on my website ArashiSupanova.com
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Learning how to stay consistent, patient, and focused are the three qualities that can get you anywhere in life. The only way I’ve been able to finish anything is with these three skills that anyone can improve on. Learning and relearning lessons are also essential. Whether you’re young or old it’s never too late to start that thing you always wanted to do.
I’m also really big on mental, spiritual, and physical health all around so learning more about all of those fields has helped me remain in a balanced place on my journey.
Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?
Anytime I get the feeling of being overwhelmed, I just remember that I am in the present moment and all of the things in my mind that have me overwhelmed are an illusion. Closing my eyes and taking a few intentional breaths helps bring me back to a place of taking everything one step at a time. Good pressure allows you to actually stay focused and committed to the task at hand. With my experience in being a server/bartender it can often seem overwhelming but as long as you stay focused on what’s right in front of you, you can make it through anything.
