We were lucky to catch up with Shaun Provost recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Shaun, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
I didn’t originally set out to be a coach, let alone build a brand like Live Unbreakable.
For years, I was stuck in a corporate job that looked great on paper (and in my bank account) but left me feeling drained and unfulfilled. My escape? A kickboxing class that lit me up inside. That’s where I met a personal trainer who planted a seed I didn’t even realize was there. “You’d make an amazing coach,” she said. At first, I laughed. Me? A coach?
But she saw something in me I didn’t yet see in myself. That spark carried me through over 100 obstacle courses, years of early-morning runs, and countless races. Friends and family started asking, “How do you stay so energized? What do you do to look so toned?” I shared what I could, but I started to feel this pull—like maybe this passion for health and fitness wasn’t just my escape, but more… my purpose.
So, I took the leap. I swapped corporate deadlines for coaching certifications and late-night brainstorming sessions about how to help others rediscover their own strength. I started with the basics—training friends and family, coaching for free just to gain experience. Every single story of progress, every smile when someone hit a goal, fueled me that much more.
Over time, Live Unbreakable began to take shape. I realized I wasn’t just helping people lose weight or build muscle, I wasn’t just helping the, understand nutrition or training principles —I was helping them feel more alive (AND look good naked… a constant ask). My approach grew into something holistic: fitness, nutrition, and mindset tailored to each individual. And when I started to focus on women’s hormone health? Everything clicked. I found my calling in helping women understand their bodies, break free from frustrating symptoms, and show up as their best selves effortlessly.
Live Unbreakable isn’t just a business. It’s a reflection of my own personal journey—the struggles I overcame, the lessons I learned, and the purpose I found in empowering others. If you told me years ago that I’d get to wake up every day and do what I love, I honestly don’t think I wouldn’t have believed it. But here I am, paying it forward, one plan, one breakthrough, and one empowered client at a time.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
Thank you so much for this opportunity to share my story! I’m the owner and founder of Live Unbreakable, LLC, where I help badass individuals reclaim their health and confidence through personal training, nutritional guidance, and hormone health coaching. My passion lies in supporting women who feel like they’ve tried everything but still can’t lose weight or manage weight effectively, shake period problems, fatigue, brain fog, or are just looking to get healthier and don’t know where to start.
What makes Live Unbreakable truly special is our holistic, personalized approach. I don’t believe in cookie-cutter solutions or quick fixes—health is deeply personal, and my mission is to equip my clients with tools that fit their unique needs. Whether it’s helping someone sync their lifestyle with their cycle to banish cramps and feel energized or coaching a busy dad to find joy in simple, no-jumping workouts, I’m all about creating sustainable results that are FUN to achieve and feel good to work on.
Right now, I’m especially excited about the beta launch of my Hormone Harmony program—a six-week, life-changing course designed for women who are ready to take control of their hormones, ditch the brain fog, and finally see results without relying on birth control. This program has been a labor of love, blending science-backed strategies with a lot of heart.
Beyond that, I’m always expanding what Live Unbreakable offers, whether it’s by creating resources like workout guides, educational content on Instagram, or working 1:1 with clients to craft their health blueprint. My goal? To make health feel doable and empower women to show up in their lives as the most confident, vibrant versions of themselves.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back, three key qualities stand out as absolute game-changers in my entrepreneurial/purpose-driven journey: resilience, curiosity, and empathy.
1. Resilience: Building Live Unbreakable wasn’t easy. It’s still not. There are always going to be moments of doubt, financial strain, and plenty of mistakes, but resilience keeps me moving forward. Challenges will test you, but the ability to adapt, learn, and keep going—even when it feels hard—is everything. My advice? Embrace failure as a teacher. The only way you truly fail is if you give up. Everything else is just a lesson to be learned.
2. Curiosity: I’ve always been a lifelong learner (always in a certification, course, or school to further my education and understanding) and it’s been crucial in shaping the coach and entrepreneur I am today. From diving into hormone health to understanding the science behind sustainable fitness, staying curious opened doors I didn’t even know existed. For anyone starting out, I recommend investing in your education—whether that’s certifications, books, podcasts, or shadowing someone you admire. The more you know, the more value you can bring to others, and the more they show you in return.
3. Empathy: Coaching isn’t just about knowing the technical side of things—it’s about truly understanding and connecting with your clients. Empathy allows me to meet clients where they are and create plans that feel achievable, instead of totally overwhelming. My advice here is simple: listen more than you talk. Get to know the struggles, goals, and motivations of those you’re serving. When people feel heard and understood, they’re much more likely to trust you and succeed.
For anyone starting their journey, I’d say this: focus on progress, not perfection. You don’t have to have it all figured out to take the first step. Commit to showing up every day in some way, even if, maybe even especially, it’s messy. Over time, those small efforts add up to big wins—and you’ll look back and be amazed at how far you’ve come.
Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?
When I feel overwhelmed, my first priority is honestly just honoring my nervous system and really listening to what my body is telling me. Overwhelm is often my cue to pause, reassess, and focus on what I truly need in that moment.
It’s taken me a long time, and working with a really great mentor/coach, to get here, though. With her help, I’ve learned to recognize the early signs of overwhelm—whether it’s a freeze state where I get virtually nothing done, or tension in my shoulders, racing thoughts, or feeling scattered. When those signals hit, I take a visible step back. I might close my laptop, step outside for fresh air, or even take five minutes to just breathe and ground myself. From there, I ask myself, “What’s the most important thing right now?” and prioritize accordingly.
Ultimately it’s really important to give yourself the permission and grace to pause. It’s easy to think we need to keep pushing through, but often that only compounds the overwhelm and makes it even worse. Taking a step back isn’t a sign of weakness—it’s a powerful way to protect your energy and ensure you’re moving forward with clarity and intention. Remember, you can’t pour from an empty cup.
