We were lucky to catch up with Shavon Price recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Shavon , thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?

My work ethic has been significantly shaped by my parents, who embody hard work and diligence. In my newly released book, “Repairing Time Leaks,” I slightly revisit my parents’ challenges with balancing their professional endeavors, parenthood, and the necessity of taking meaningful breaks. As my father matured, he adopted a more deliberate approach to time management, emphasizing the importance of rest, as well as maintaining a balanced diet and regular exercise regimen. Conversely, my mother’s approach to life is characterized by her selflessness, dedicating herself to uplifting others in various capacities.

From their example, I extracted the importance of hard work in achieving one’s goals, while also recognizing the need for efficiency and strategic time management. In an era overwhelmed by distractions, it is crucial to prioritize tasks that resonate most with our core objectives and personal ambitions. This lesson has been instrumental in guiding my focus toward endeavors that are not only fulfilling but also align with my broader life goals

Of course! I am Shavon Price, an Operations Strategist, Online Business Manager, and CEO of, She’s Your Assistant.  I create plans for entrepreneurs to identify their Time Wasters while offloading their Time Consumers with the help of She’s Your Assistant.  My passion for time management came from a desire for more freedom and control over my life. I’d observed over the years that I did not put much effort into the goals I claimed I wanted to accomplish. Once I began to hone in on my passions, I was overwhelmed thinking of all the time I had wasted. I began to overload my day with as many tasks as possible forgetting to take care of myself mentally and physically. I wrote a small guidebook with tasks and reflective journaling called, “Repairing Time Leaks.” This book was a passion project to aid entrepreneurs who may not even know what tasks should be offloaded.

On 3/21/24, A 30-day challenge will be launched. Geared toward “Reclaiming Your Time” while focusing on a specific SMART goal, the challenge is wellness-focused. By making sure the goal is measurable, we will see the progress made within 30 days in hopes of boosting confidence, building morale, and creating a positive and productive habit.

I am developing a corporate lunch and learn along with a course for New Business Owners which will be developed by October 2024.

On a personal note, I love to crochet and sew! Hobbies require patience and time, which I’ve had to “find” to develop my passions.  I knew that I needed to have the same respect for them as I have for my business and career. I pray I am blessed to drive revenue by selling my patterns and custom designs.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?


Authenticity has been the most important quality and challenge I’ve faced! I had to learn I am the brand and the commodity. My knowledge is to be respected and kept on a pedestal. By remaining authentic, money flows as it needs to. People hire you for your passions because you can discuss them with ease. They feel the fire inside of you and want to be a part of it.

The next thing I learned was to be curious. I approach most things with an open mind without much expectation similar to a child-like energy.  People may not always have the best intentions, but I try to see all sides because most things aren’t black and white. It’s helped me remove most of the “personal” feelings that may exist and focus on business. It allows me to remain composed and level-headed even though the topic is probably one I would argue down. You know artists are sensitive about their ish!

The last is being adaptable. My journey has been one of twists and turns; full of mistakes. Beautiful mistakes. I usually reflect at the end of the year to see if there’s anything I would change. The answer is always NO. I can be upset because things are unclear at the time. Once I’ve evaluated a situation, I know I made the best decision with the information I had. That is all I can ask for.
