Meet Shawna Reckinger

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Shawna Reckinger a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Shawna, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?

I didn’t so much develop confidence as I remembered it.

There was a time I shaped myself to fit the expectations of others—17 years of masking as a nurse in systems that didn’t reflect my values. I was competent, even respected, but I was also disconnected from my truth. My confidence back then was performative—rooted in achievement, not alignment.

Real confidence began to bloom the moment I started honoring the parts of me I’d tucked away: the mystic, the intuitive, the one who communes with land, who prays with fire, who believes in what science can’t explain. It was born through reclaiming all the versions of me I had once hidden for the sake of being “palatable.”

Self-esteem came from doing the deep inner work—getting curious about my shadow, learning to sit with grief, giving voice to the parts of me that were scared or angry or uncertain. I stopped abandoning myself, and started listening with reverence.

Confidence, to me, is now synonymous with self-trust. It’s not loud. It’s not about being sure of everything. It’s a quiet knowing that I can walk with life honestly, imperfectly, unapologetically.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I’m a transformational coach, intuitive guide, and soul midwife for creatives, sensitives, and seekers who are ready to live a life of alignment, depth, and truth. I also offer Akashic Readings as well as Craniosacral Quantum Sound Journeys.

After 17 years in working within the confines of the current medical system as a hospice and mental health RN, I’ve walked alongside people at the edge of life, bearing witness to what truly matters when everything else falls away. These experiences have shaped me profoundly. I’ve come to understand that fulfillment doesn’t come from checking the right boxes, but from living in integrity with your soul.

Today, I support individuals who are moving through life transitions, spiritual awakenings, or the ache of misalignment. My work blends Internal Family Systems (IFS), somatic wisdom, energy work, ancestral connection, quantum experiencing, and sacred ritual to help people return to themselves. I hold a space that is deep, intuitive, and reverent; designed to excavate what’s real, release what no longer serves, and reweave the parts of self that have been fragmented.

I offer custom-tailored coaching packages that meet you exactly where you are—whether you’re navigating grief, reinvention, or the subtle unraveling of who you thought you were in honor of who you are to become. In addition to coaching, I offer Akashic Record readings for those seeking soul-level clarity, as well as a few unique and potent in-person offerings for those in my physical vicinity. These in-person sessions are immersive, ceremonial experiences that engage all levels of being; emotional, energetic, ancestral, and somatic. They often include craniosacral fascial release, sound healing, guided journeywork, energy clearing and limpia, and deep presence. These sessions are guided by a vast array of formal training as well as intuition and guidance from the unseen. For many, these sessions are a homecoming, a place to be fully seen, held, and witnessed in sacred space in honor of returning to oneself.

What makes my work potent is the way it honors the full spectrum of the human experience. I don’t bypass the hard stuff. I walk with my clients into the shadowy places, and we learn to listen there. To me, healing isn’t about “fixing” what’s broken. It’s about remembering what’s already whole.

What’s most exciting to me right now is the level of transformation I’m witnessing in my clients. People are remembering their power. They’re making radical choices to live more freely, to stop abandoning themselves, to step into the lives they’ve truly been yearning for. And I get to support that? What an honor.

I’ve recently created a couple of free offerings that reflect the heart of my work—one called The Inner Spark Guide and another titled Integrating the Shadow: A Guide to Embracing Your Wholeness. I’m always in the process of contemplating and creating resources and spaces to deeply support others on the profound journey through life.

My brand isn’t just a business; it’s a living altar. It’s an invitation to come home to yourself, and to walk through this life with presence, purpose, and a deep trust in your own unfolding.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Looking back, the three qualities that have shaped my journey most profoundly are self-trust, devotion to the unseen, and my capacity to be with discomfort.

Self-trust didn’t come from knowing all the answers; it came from honoring my own knowing despite not having the answers. It meant listening to the whispers within, even when they didn’t make logical sense, even when they disrupted the life I had built. For anyone early on their path, self-trust is something you build by listening, acting, and learning over and over again. Start small. Keep promises to yourself. Learn the difference between intuition and fear, and give yourself grace as you figure it out.

Devotion to the unseen has been a quiet but constant thread. My path hasn’t always been visible or validated by the outside world. But my connection to Spirit, to the intelligence of the earth, to the voice of my own soul. It’s what has kept me steady. This kind of devotion requires space. Stillness. Ritual. If you’re feeling lost, start there: create a small daily moment of reverence. Light a candle. Speak to the waters. Ask your body what it needs. These are not small things. They are everything.

And finally, my capacity to be with discomfort, with the deep dark dirties of the human experience. Growth is not clean or linear. There have been seasons of uncertainty, grief, fear, even heartbreak. But I learned to stop seeing those states as signs of failure and instead treat them as invitations, even initiations. If I could give one piece of advice, it would be: make discomfort your teacher, not your enemy. The more you can stay with what’s uncomfortable, without collapsing or bypassing, the more resilient, open, and truly free you become.

Who is your ideal client or what sort of characteristics would make someone an ideal client for you?

My ideal client is someone who’s standing at a threshold, aware that something in their life no longer fits, and deeply ready to live with more authenticity, alignment, and aliveness.

They may not know exactly where they’re headed, but they feel the call, they know something is stirring. They’re often highly intuitive, creative, sensitive, or in the midst of a life transition that has stirred something deeper awake within them. What makes someone ideal for this work is their willingness to look within, to get honest, to feel what’s been unfelt, to follow the thread and listen to the nudges.

Working with me is not just about visioning or healing, it’s about getting to know oneself from a totally new, expanded, inspired, and loving perspective. It’s about coming ibto remembrance onf one’s inherent wholeness and worthiness. I meet my clients in the linear reality of their day-to-day lives, where strategy, systems, and practical support are essential. But I also guide them into the nonlinear terrain; the energetic, emotional, and spiritual undercurrents that shape who they are and how they move through the world.

Together, we explore what makes them tick, what holds them back, and what’s ready to be re-membered. Nervous system regulation, somatic presence, and energetic hygiene are part of the foundation. My work weaves in practices that draw from ancient earth-based lineages, ceremony, and altered states of consciousness; always in integrity, and always in deep respect for the mysteries we’re working with.

Spirit is present in every session. I listen with my whole body, and often receive intuitive insight that guides our process. I trust the unseen just as much as the seen. Sometimes that means helping a client map out the next phase of their business or relationship; other times, it means journeying into the Akashic Records, dialoguing with their inner parts, or tending to ancestral threads that have gone unspoken.

This is work for those who want depth and direction. For those who know that real transformation lives in the body, the soul, and the nervous system—not just in the mind.
