We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Shea White a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Shea, thank you so much for joining us. You are such a positive person and it’s something we really admire and so we wanted to start by asking you where you think your optimism comes from?
My optimism comes from seeing the incredible resilience and strength of the people I work with. Every day, I’m inspired by the women who come into my office—each with their own story of courage and perseverance. While the journey through mastectomy and recovery can be challenging, I witness firsthand how these women rise above adversity, reclaim their sense of self, and embrace life again with renewed confidence.
In this field, I’m privileged to be a part of that transformation. Whether it’s helping someone find the right prosthesis or guiding them through the process of adjusting to their new normal, I see small victories every day. Every time a patient tells me they feel more like themselves again, I’m reminded of the power of healing, both physical and emotional.
Optimism, for me, isn’t just about seeing the glass half full; it’s about understanding that recovery and renewal are possible, even in the toughest of times. The people I work with teach me daily that hope and healing are always within reach, no matter the obstacles.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I feel truly privileged to be in a position where I can combine my expertise as a Certified Fitter with the ability to create a space that genuinely makes a difference in people’s lives. As both a healthcare provider and a business owner, I get to lead with a sense of purpose that goes beyond just offering a service—I’m offering a path to healing, self-confidence, and empowerment for the women who come to me.
What makes me feel special is the trust my patients place in me. When someone walks through the door after a mastectomy, they are often feeling vulnerable and uncertain. To be able to offer not only the technical support they need but also emotional reassurance is incredibly fulfilling. I get to be part of their journey, helping them regain their sense of wholeness and strength. There’s a deep sense of connection that comes from being able to guide someone through this process, knowing that the choices I make—whether it’s recommending the right prosthesis or garment—can help restore their comfort and dignity.
As an owner, I also have the unique ability to shape the experience for each person who comes through my doors. I’ve created an environment where they can feel safe, understood, and valued. There’s something incredibly rewarding about knowing that the team I’ve built and the services we provide are making an impact. This is more than just a job to me—it’s a calling, and every day, I’m reminded of why I chose this path.
We are currently planning expansion to the business in 2026 as well we are always looking for new and improved products to offer to our customers.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Three qualities are Compassion, resilience and determination were most impactful in my journey. My best advice is take everything one day at a time. Be prepared and educate yourself in all areas of business, however, understand that it will come with some failures and disappointment. But with the resilience to push through and realize tomorrow is a new day.

All the wisdom you’ve shared today is sincerely appreciated. Before we go, can you tell us about the main challenge you are currently facing?
One of the key challenges faced by DME providers involves managing interactions with insurance companies. Many of our patients find insurance policies quite complex, often arriving with the expectation of full coverage for their required items. However, they frequently discover that their coverage is limited or that they are responsible for costs exceeding their expectations, which can be a source of frustration. As a DME provider, it is essential to balance the need to assist patients in maximizing their benefits with the necessity of maintaining the financial sustainability of the practice to ensure continued quality service.
