We recently connected with Shemariah Pradia and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Shemariah, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
My resilience is shaped by my life experiences, particularly my diagnosis of breast cancer and my journey with lupus. Navigating these challenges has taught me the importance of maintaining strength while fulfilling my roles as a mother and individual. I am committed to finding balance and authenticity in the midst of adversity.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
As a self-made celebrity chef with a diverse background, including service in the Navy and experience as a nurse, I have developed a unique approach to healthy cooking. My journey through various adversities has deepened my understanding of nutrition and its impact on health. I am dedicated to creating flavorful, nutritious meals that not only delight the palate but also support overall well-being. My goal is to provide a private chef experience that inspires others to embrace healthy eating without sacrificing taste. Together, we can transform perceptions of nutritious food into a delicious culinary adventure.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Reflecting on my life journey, I recognize three pivotal influences: my faith in God, the support of my family, and the pursuit of my dreams. My advice to others is to remain steadfast in the face of life’s challenges. Distractions and setbacks are inevitable, but it is crucial to stay focused on your aspirations. Even when mistakes occur, gather the pieces and continue to forge ahead. Resilience is key to achieving your goals.
Is there a particular challenge you are currently facing?
As a disabled veteran navigating the challenges of systemic lupus and being a breast cancer survivor, I recognize that my health can often feel like my greatest obstacle. However, I strive to embrace my journey and pursue my business aspirations with resilience. When I need to rest, I prioritize self-care, allowing my body the necessary time to heal. This restorative period often inspires new ideas and strategies for my business, enabling me to return with renewed strength and focus. Ultimately, cultivating self-love and prioritizing my well-being are essential components of my pursuit of personal and professional growth.
