Meet Sheronda Akpaitmi

We recently connected with Sheronda Akpaitmi and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Sheronda, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?

I get my resilience from having to pick myself up at 18 after my mother passed away. I had to take care of myself all on my own and continue the dream of being a college graduate. The thought of letting my late mother down or being a disappointment to my family keeps me going. Along with the two beautiful little girls I have to set a great example for and provide for.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I am the lead balloon stylist and CEO for Elegant Scenery. We specialize in giving our clients peace of mind when having events. We are reliable, on time, and great at communicating so that our clients know what to expect and are able to enjoy their event instead of decorating themselves. We specialize in Balloons and different backdrops ranging from arch boards, shimmer walls, marquee numbers and letters, and overall giving clients guest something to talk about once their event is over. Everyone deserves to have a great photo memory and we enjoy providing that for our clients.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Qualities that were most impactful in our small business journey has been great communication, being punctual or early, and ALWAYS having back up options in the event you have to pivot. Advise I would have for anyone wanting to improve or further develop in their business is stay positive and never give up. Continue to keep learning and always keep your communication open with clients.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

We are currently wanting to connect with event coordinators or event venues. I have learned being a preferred vendor for event coordinators and venues leads to more referrals that close the deal because they trust coordinators and people who throw events all the time. If there are any event coordinators, venues, planners, organizations that would like to form a relationship I can be reached via email at Elegant.Sceneryllc@gmail.com or just submit an inquiry form and we can schedule a meeting to discuss discounted prices for continued relationships.
