Meet Sherrionn

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Sherrionn. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Sherrionn, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?

Honestly, I’m just now stepping into and owning who I am. On the outside looking in I was always perceived as this bold ,loud, fearless personality. However, confidence & self-esteem has always been a struggle for me. I’ve learned that not everyone will express how great you are and will become. At times I’ve always felt the need to dim my light for others. Some people didn’t and still don’t believe in me or my goals. They’re just around for the “just in case”. However, I’ve had to train myself to believe in my talents, my “delusion” and owning my energy. It is working. I care less about what people think of me nowadays.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I’m Sherrionn. I am a singer , songwriter , recording artist – an overall entertainer. Fun fact- I have an audio engineering degree.

I am from Chicago. To be a little more specific, a south suburb outside of Chicago.

I’ve been singing since I was about 5 years old. As I matured , I auditioned to be in showchoir & made the team from 6th grade all the way through my senior year of highschool. That led me to performing ,dancing and competing on campus at Northern Illinois University. My major was communications, which made no sense in my eyes. I dropped out and decided to take another route. I started teaching myself how to record my own music , which led me to getting my degree in Audio Engineering/ Recording Arts at Tribeca Flashpoint College in Chicago.

I am now continuously growing and establishing my brand as a solo Recording Artist.

I have a project coming out soon. The first few layers within a body of work that I’m showcasing is edgy, urban, sexy & fun. Stay tuned!

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Resilience , patience & crazy faith.

If I could give any advice on all three ? Fight for what you believe in, even if you have to fight alone. Losing is not truly losing in my eyes. “Losing “ turns your desired outcome into a lesson and a reroute…if you choose to get back up and fight again. You’ll regret giving up.

Patience is key. Nothing great happens overnight in my eyes.

If you currently don’t believe in anything, believe in something…Even if it’s yourself. Take that risk and own your journey. Me? I have crazy faith.

Looking back over the past 12 months or so, what do you think has been your biggest area of improvement or growth?

Consistency. I was always afraid of annoying the world or overloading with content. Now? I’m dropping more than one song a year . I’m showing up everyday bold, loud, & ready to be seen and heard unapologetically.
