Meet Shombai Strond-davis

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Shombai Strond-davis. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Shombai below.

Shombai, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.

From childhood, my parents always instilled self-love and confidence within me. As an adult, I continue to develop my self-esteem and confidence daily! I always check myself when that “negative self-talk” tries to creep in. I embrace my authenticity and never try to compare myself to others. Knowing that we’re all uniquely created, it’s like how can you not love yourself!

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

Creative dance instructor/choreographer with years of experience in hip hop, erotic/heels, jazz, Afro-Caribbean, tap, and contemporary styles.

Currently based in Las Vegas, NV, I am the creator & instructor of Sensuous Liberation, an erotic and sensual dance class for the everyday feminine! Teaching individuals the art of sensual movement and how to embrace their sex appeal unapologetically is what I do! It’s a really fun, confidence booster.

Sensuous Liberation is expanding this year and there are many upcoming developments: Online Tutorials, Sensual Dance Retreats, Bimonthly Intimate Showcases, and much more!

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

One of the most impactful areas of knowledge in my journey has been self-awareness. Knowing who you are and what you stand for is core to finding your purpose. Discipline is a must in whatever you choose to do. It’s easy to get distracted early in your journey, so developing a routine to stay on task can help. Also, having a great support system that will hold you accountable is key! Work-Life Balance is important as well. There has to be time-management and a balance of work & play!

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?

I love to collaborate with other positive creatives! Dancers, Choreographers, Videographer, Show Producers/Directors, Artists etc.
