We recently connected with Shuyi Li and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Shuyi, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
I always admire artists worldwide and find inspiration in their work. I can feel their passion for their journey to becoming artists, which inspires me and helps me find my purpose when I doubt myself.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
As a professional expert in motion graphics and visual storytelling, my work revolves around bringing ideas to life through captivating animations and videos. With a specialization in creating compelling visual narratives, I’ve had the privilege of contributing to a diverse array of projects. Throughout my 7-year motion graphics journey, I’ve worked on promotional campaigns, brand showcases, promo trailers, social media content, out-of-home LED screens, educational materials, and product videos. Each project has played a role in shaping my professional identity and has been instrumental in my growth and development as a motion graphic artist. This journey has been integral to shaping the professional I am today.
My expertise lies in understanding the intersection of artistry and technology, allowing me to craft visually stunning animations while effectively conveying complex concepts. Whether it’s developing immersive experiences for audiences or collaborating with clients to elevate their brand identity, I’m dedicated to delivering impactful results that resonate with audiences and clients.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I believe that doing as much research as possible, being curious about the bigger picture of your role in the project or team, and always keeping an open mind to change are very impactful in my journey. These three skills are easy to practice, yet many people tend to ignore them. They can also be challenging to incorporate into our daily routines, and sometimes we forget about them. However, I think these small habits significantly impact my career. They inspire me when I am confused and help clear my mind, allowing me to keep moving forward.

What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?
I don’t feel overwhelmed very often, but when I do, it usually causes a lot of anxiety. Typically, feeling overwhelmed comes from not completing tasks on time. Things should have been done earlier, but I waited until the last minute. Problems will always be there, and I just need to address them. My experience is straightforward—just get things done. This has been a learning experience for me over the years, and I always try my best to improve myself.
