We recently connected with Shyla Collier and have shared our conversation below.
Shyla , thank you so much for joining us and offering your lessons and wisdom for our readers. One of the things we most admire about you is your generosity and so we’d love if you could talk to us about where you think your generosity comes from.
I make it a huge priority to give back to the community. We give a percentage of our proceeds to local charities, attend a yearly fundraising gala and host a yearly drive for a chosen nonprofit organization. In the past when I needed someone, they were there for me. I am so blessed and love to share with others.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I am the owner of Premiere Social Media. We are a full-service nationwide digital marketing agency. Although we offer all forms of online marketing, we specialize in social media management and training, website and graphic design, as well as local women’s networking groups. I absolutely love empowering others and helping their business succeed.
I have 16 years experience in marketing and have a strong passion for it. I am a social media expert and enjoy sharing my knowledge with others. Facebook is my absolute favorite platform. I am the author of Social Media Key to Credibility, a contributing author of the Amazon Best Seller, When You’re Done Expecting and a contributing author of Redesign Your 9 to 5. Overall, my top priority is my 13 year old son whom I love dearly.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
1. I think the best quality for every business to have is stellar customer service. This is the biggest piece lacking in businesses today.
2. Having an amazing product or service is also key to the success of your company. Be the expert in your field and remedy a struggle that your client may have.
3. Honesty is crucial in not only business but in life itself. If you do not think that you can help someone, do not take on the task.
Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?
My parents instilled in me good work ethic and money management skills. I am so very grateful that they did. It has helped me in my business every step of the way. I feel like the knowledge of these attributes are invaluable, yet lacking in many people today.
