Shyrone Cyph360 , so excited to have you with us today. So much we can chat about, but one of the questions we are most interested in is how you have managed to keep your creativity alive.
I am able to keep my creativity alive by constantly creating. Early on in my career I would have bouts of writer’s block and would feel stuck. I discovered, for me, the only way to beat writer’s block was to work on something different. This lead to me being able to work on multiple projects at one time and also help me release 5 books in one year. I use this method till this day and I’m able to work on writing books, movie scripts and music all at the same time without compromise to either.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I am a writer, author, artist, producer and director. I was born and raised in Jersey City, New Jersey and always had a love of the arts. I started out as a hip hop artist where I found a love of writing. I would use that love of writing to write my first book. I have released 20 titles over the course of my career and that writing lead me to other avenues. I wrote films, with one of my films, “Da Citi”, being picked up for distribution after a successful independent release. I also became a journalist and worked with some of the top publications in entertainment journalism. Including Sways Universe, The Jasmine Brand, Thisis50, XXL, and Tracy Mitchell VA. I launched my publishing company with the intentions of showing authors how to become independent. My service is intended to show you the steps of becoming a published author, I edit, format, create book cover and publish. I also include an social media account and website for the author and after everything is set I give the author full control of their work. What separates my publishing company from the rest is, I will never see money that’s made from the project because I sell a service and not own people’s work. With film and production services beside me I have a team of people who can help get things done, from a commercial to a feature film. With the music production side, I have partnered up with some talented producers who can cover many genres of music.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Some qualities that were impactful in my journey was the willingness to learn new things and take criticism along the way. Another thing I was willing to get my hands dirty and do the work and the most impactful quality I had, I was fearless and not afraid too try and fail in order to succeed. You need to be able to let your faith be bigger than your fears and be willing to work until your goal becomes your reality.
Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?
The most impactful thing my mother did for me was tell me I could do anything I wanted to do. Her belief in me when nobody else did help mold me into the man I am today. Without her love and guidance, I could have easily became a victim of my surroundings, like many of friends and family.
