Meet Sierra Mendonsa

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Sierra Mendonsa a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Sierra, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.

For me, confidence comes from three things: knowledge, experience, and knowing I’m bringing real value to the table.

1. Knowledge as a Foundation
Confidence starts with knowing your sh*t. I didn’t just wake up one day and decide to do this—I’ve earned a degree (not that you always need that), taken courses, read countless articles, watched hundreds of hours of YouTube, and made sure I understand my industry inside and out. Staying educated gives you a foundation to stand on, so you’re not second-guessing every move. When you know the why behind what you’re doing, you naturally show up with more confidence.

2. Experience—The Ultimate Teacher
But knowledge alone isn’t enough. Confidence really solidifies through experience—actually doing the work, trying things, seeing what works (and what completely flops). Every project, every client, every challenge teaches you something new. The more you put yourself out there, the more you refine your skills, and the more second nature your expertise becomes. You stop questioning yourself because you’ve been there and figured it out before.

3. Knowing You’re Providing Real Value
And finally, the biggest confidence booster? Knowing that what you do *actually* makes a difference. When you believe in what you offer—when you know it’s making someone’s life easier, their business stronger, their vision clearer—that’s where true self-assurance comes in. You stop focusing on whether you’re “good enough” and start focusing on helping. And when you’re rooted in service, that energy is contagious—clients feel it, and they trust you because you trust yourself.

Confidence isn’t about being the most “qualified” person in the room. It’s about continually learning, showing up, and believing in the impact you have on others.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I help passionate entrepreneurs build brands and websites that don’t just look good but actually work—turning browsers into buyers and business dreams into reality. What excites me most about my work is partnering with people who are all in—the ones who have decided to take their business seriously and are ready to show up confidently. There’s so much energy and passion in entrepreneurship, and I don’t take it lightly when someone trusts me to bring their vision to life. I become invested in their success because I know firsthand how much heart goes into building something from the ground up.

I also know that every business owner is at a different stage, which is why I offer multiple ways to work together. Whether you need a DIY-friendly option to get started or a Done-for-You brand and website that’s polished, strategic, and ready to scale, I’ve got you covered. No matter which path you choose, my goal is always the same—to help you create a brand that feels like you, speaks to the right people, and makes you feel proud as hell of your business, every time someone asks you about it.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Looking back, three things have been game-changers in my journey:

1. Be a Learner (And Be Proactive About It)
Never assume you know everything—because you don’t. And honestly? That’s a good thing. The best entrepreneurs are always evolving, always researching, always willing to say, “I don’t know, but I’ll find out.” The more you learn, the more confidence you build, and the better you serve your clients. Staying curious keeps you ahead of the game.

2. Be a Giver
Give, give, give. Show up ready to serve. My goal is always to make my clients’ lives easier and to overdeliver—not just in quality, but in experience. I want them to walk away feeling like they got more than they paid for, because that’s what creates long-term relationships and a raving fan base. When you lead with generosity, success follows.

3. Be Creative & a Problem Solver
Creativity isn’t just about aesthetics—it’s about thinking differently, approaching challenges with fresh solutions, and figuring things out when there’s no clear answer. Every business has roadblocks. The ones who succeed aren’t the ones who avoid them, but the ones who find a way through. Being resourceful, flexible, and solutions-focused will take you so far.

At the end of the day, success isn’t about luck or talent alone—it’s about learning, giving, and solving problems in a way that makes people’s lives better. That’s what keeps me going, and it’s what I’d tell anyone looking to grow.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

I’m always open to collaborating in ways that make sense and create real value—whether that’s through partnerships, content creation, or working directly with business owners who are ready to take their brand seriously.

1. Referral Partnerships & Mutual Growth
I love connecting with brand photographers, copywriters, business coaches, and other service providers who are also working with entrepreneurs. I know my clients will need these things as well and I love having business providers I TRUST to refer my clients to. (and of course it’s always great if your clients need branding or web design support too) I’m all about building relationships that help both of our businesses grow while making sure our clients get the best possible experience.

2. Content & Resource Collaborations
I’m always up for creating guest content, workshops, or educational resources that help business owners level up. Whether it’s a joint webinar, guest blog post, or podcast appearance, if we share a similar audience and values, I’d love to collaborate on something that genuinely helps people.

3. Working with Passionate Business Owners
Of course, if you’re a business owner reading this and thinking, I need this in my life, then yes—I’d love to work with you! I thrive when I get to collaborate with entrepreneurs who are all in on their business and ready to invest in their brand’s future. Whether you need a fully custom website or a more DIY-friendly option, I have services that meet you where you are.
