Meet Sierra Stone

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Sierra Stone. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Sierra, we are so happy that our community is going to have a chance to learn more about you, your story and hopefully even take in some of the lessons you’ve learned along the way. Let’s start with self-care – what do you do for self-care and has it had any impact on your effectiveness?

I think self-care is something that goes deeper than a good skincare routine. I also try to remember that self-care requires maintenance & might require new habit-building. Therefore, the best thing I do for my self-care daily is to focus on three wins. One for my mind, body, and spirit. For my mind, I try to learn something new every day. I attend therapy & spiritual settings weekly to grow my spirit. For my body, I do yoga daily & take a walk every morning when I wake up. I try to nourish my body with healthy food & I remind myself that “health is wealth”.
Having self-care be the aim of my life & “feeling good” with discipline being the backbone truly changed my effectiveness of overall success.
It’s always great to be able to look back on your life & think wow – old me would have not handled this great, but I finally got it!

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

My name is Sierra Stone & I am from Pittsburgh, PA. I started recording music professionally at 18 years old & began a music career. I also got interested in tech, web development, graphic design, crypto, and audio engineering while in my early 20s.
I am now 26 years old, and I live in Portland, OR.
I am currently working with clients helping them grow their social media & brand identities in music & other industries in tech. I make them designs & I try to be the person they can lean on when building a brand. I also DJ, audio engineer, tour, and actively run my music career.
I love to do charity which I feel called to do. I have loved to do food & clothing drives at shows for those in need. I also have DJed at protests, and performed at charity events, and I have done free designs & website work for charitable companies. I feel like charity work always grounds me into realizing we are truly all one, and reminds me of the good we can accomplish in numbers.
I am always open to working with new companies & even just having a conversation can be enlightening.
Living in my purpose has brought me true joy & I am excited to continue growing as an artist & entrepreneur. I am still developing my brand & company “Lion Stone Design” & working with long-time clients in business. I am still investing in crypto. I am still recording music! I am most excited about my first-ever debut album to be released before the end of 2024. I have plans to put out an EP, mixtape, and debut album before 2024 is over. I am going on a tour with Scott Morris from Mor Bookings Agency in September for New York Fashion Week & MTV VMA Week. It truly is a dream come true, and I love New York City.
We have exciting opportunities happening that week & until then, I am on the daily grind.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Looking back on my career, skills, and areas of knowledge I think remaining humble & respectful was the priority when working in the creative world.
Handling someone’s first business venture with their website & brand it’s kind of like their child. They have to gain your trust and you have to share their passion & ideas or you might run into some problems. I just always remind myself to treat others how I would like to be treated. I also try to recognize my limits & try to remain balanced with work & life.
Reading “The Four Agreements” by Don Ruiz & making that reference to own my mission statement for my brand & way of living has made everything very simple. Readers are leaders & I sometimes look at books as distant mentors.
My advice for someone starting with their journey is to just go for it. Worry about all the problems as they come & do not let the “what ifs” destroy your vision.

Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?

‘The Four Agreements’ by Don Miguel Ruiz is a self-help book that outlines four principles for living.
The four principles to live by mentioned in the book are to be impeccable with their words, not to take things personally, never make assumptions, and always do their best.
This has saved me a lot of unnecessary ways of thinking & has given me so much peace.
