Meet Silas Meridy

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Silas Meridy a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Silas, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?

“I develop my confidence and self-esteem by setting achievable goals, focusing on my strengths, learning from challenges, and surrounding myself with positive influences. Regular self-reflection and celebrating small wins also help me stay grounded and motivated.”

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I’m a music recording artist that passionately dedicated to creating music that authentically expresses my thoughts, emotions, and experiences. My process involves crafting lyrics, melodies, and beats that reflect my unique perspective, whether it’s telling a story, exploring a feeling, or sharing my journey.

What I find most exciting and special about being an artist is the ability to turn raw ideas and emotions into something tangible that connects with people. There’s an incredible feeling when someone tells me a song of mine spoke to them or helped them through a tough time. It’s rewarding to know that my art can resonate with others and create a sense of shared understanding. Plus, the creative process itself—building a track from scratch, experimenting with sounds, and seeing the vision come to life—is a thrill that keeps me inspired.”

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Looking back on it the three most impactful qualities in my journey as a recording artist were authenticity, resilience, and a willingness to learn. Staying true to my story helped me connect with listeners, overcoming challenges kept me moving forward, and constantly learning helped me grow. My advice is to focus on discovering your unique voice, embrace setbacks as growth opportunities, and stay curious. Let your passion guide you—it’s what makes your music stand out.

Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?

My mother has been one of the biggest sources of support in my journey as a recording artist. She’s always believed in me, even when I faced doubts or setbacks, and her encouragement gave me the confidence to keep pushing forward. Her advice and guidance helped me stay grounded while pursuing my dreams, teaching me the importance of resilience and perseverance.

She’s also been a role model for hard work and determination, inspiring me to develop the discipline needed to improve my craft and navigate the ups and downs of the music industry. Whether it was motivating me to stay authentic to who I am or offering wisdom during tough times, her presence has been invaluable. She helped me see challenges as opportunities to grow and reminded me that success is a journey, not a destination.
