Silas, we are so happy that our community is going to have a chance to learn more about you, your story and hopefully even take in some of the lessons you’ve learned along the way. Let’s start with self-care – what do you do for self-care and has it had any impact on your effectiveness?

My name is Silas Mwenda.Thank you Bold Journey Magazine for having me .I feel so honored.
Self care is one of my top priority things to do in my life. Its literally the backbone of my life and I never ever take it for granted.I used to ignore it somehow many times before but these days I take it very seriously and it has changed my life in such a great way.
I practice self care in different ways.I like eating healthy food ,well balanced meals,Exercises, working out ,I’ve been doing walks every evening on trails ,Hikes,Meditation sessions,Yoga,Praying,Going out with my friends ,listening to positive music and podcasts, Taking care of my personal hygiene.Soaking myself in a hot tub or steam room once in a while .It feels amazing
I’ve been more productive after practicing self care.Gets good sleep,Able to connect with others at work in a great way,I focus better ,My self esteem has improved greatly and I feel more confident of myself.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

My name is Silas Mwenda and am in the entertainment industry.Am originally from Kenya,Africa but am currently based in the USA.
My passion in the creative industry started since I was a young boy living in Africa.I always loved and enjoyed to perform for people as well as serving other people through my arts which always made me feel happier.I always enjoyed singing while I run after the elephants,Lions and Zebras in the jungle sliding on giraffes poop.It was fun.Am a certified jungle boy ha
Performing arts is not just a way to make money for me but a huge passion that resonates deep within me which helps me to serve others.Ive done so many projects and am also getting ready to release other exciting projects that will make you smile.Keep your eyes open for it.
Thanks so much for those who I’ve supported over the years.I can’t thank you enough. This year has been incredible so far and my heart is full.2025 has been on the best years of my life and can’t wait for the amazing surprises that God has kept for me in the near future.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Thanks for asking, that’s a great question.
There so many qualities and skills that have applied in my journey and they made my journey even smoother.
Hard work is one of them is hard work has always paid off for me.Ive always believed in working hard and remaining focused in what I do.Theres is no shortcut in life,Hard work and discipline are the only way to go.They do create a very strong foundation that is not easily moved. You know a strong foundation is important. It shows how strong a building will be.
Also prayers,I’ve always believed that talents are good but it’s hard to make it through without divine intervention so I always make sure I pray and let God direct my steps every day.
Training and patience is another thing that I’ve learnt to apply in my journey.Ive never stopped training no matter what stage I am in.It helps me to sharpen myself even better and become more marketable.Ive also learnt to be patient and wait for the right timing of things.I don’t force thing prematurely.I wait patiently for their perfect timing.

To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?

The most impactful thing my parents did to me was taking me to school.Am forever thankful for that.I was born and raised in Africa and going to school is not guaranteed at all.Parents work their ass off to pay school fees and feed kids which is not even possible for so many people there.Government doesn’t pay students school fees but parents do from their pocket whether you can afford it or not.
Many kids don’t make it to get the best education but I was so fortunate to have parents who believed in me and paid for my education.I always saw the challenges they faced but they pulled through.
Am also grateful for my parents for disciplining me,Teaching values and good morals and on top of that how to respect others.
I love them and may God bless them.
