Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Silvana Johnson. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Silvana, so great to have you with us and thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts with the community. So, let’s jump into something that stops so many people from going after their dreams – haters, nay-sayers, etc. We’d love to hear about how you dealt with that and persisted on your path.
Despite the “no’s” and the haters, I persist because I deeply understand what I want, what I’m capable of, and what truly makes me happy. Every setback is a reminder that I’m pursuing something meaningful to me. Even if I never achieve widespread success, the joy and fulfillment I experience along the way are invaluable. I choose to embrace the journey, knowing that each step forward, no matter how small, is a victory. I refuse to let “what ifs” and regrets overshadow my passion and dreams. Instead, I focus on the positive impact my work has on me and those who appreciate it.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I’m originally from Argentina and came to the United States on a full scholarship to study fashion design. For 15 years, I worked as a fashion designer, but my journey took an exciting turn when I started making jewelry for myself. I was searching for something very specific and, what began as a hobby, soon blossomed into a full-fledged passion.
In my jewelry creations, I use natural gemstones, fresh and saltwater pearls, and seashells, drawing inspiration from the beach and coastal lifestyle. Each piece is made in small batches, with the intention of making women feel beautiful and as if they are on a beautiful, unforgettable vacation.
What excites me most about my work is the ability to translate the serene and vibrant essence of the coast into wearable art that can brighten someone’s day and make them feel special. Right now, I’m thrilled to share that I’m working on launching my own website, which will make it easier for everyone to explore and purchase my unique pieces.
Thank you for letting me share my story and my work with you. It’s been an incredible journey, and I’m excited for what the future holds.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back, three qualities that were most impactful in my journey were resilience, creativity, and a deep sense of purpose.
**Resilience** allowed me to persevere through setbacks and criticism. It’s important to remember that every “no” is a step closer to a “yes,” and every challenge is an opportunity to grow. For those early in their journey, I recommend embracing failures as learning experiences. Stay focused on your goals and keep pushing forward, no matter how tough it gets.
**Creativity** has been the heart of my work. It’s not just about making beautiful things, but about solving problems and finding new ways to express ideas. To develop this skill, immerse yourself in different experiences, explore various forms of art, and always stay curious. Creativity thrives in an open and inquisitive mind.
**A deep sense of purpose** kept me grounded and motivated. Knowing why you do what you do gives you the strength to keep going, even when times are tough. For those starting out, I encourage you to find your “why.” Reflect on what truly matters to you and let that guide your decisions and actions.
My advice to those early in their journey is to cultivate these qualities with patience and dedication. Surround yourself with supportive people, seek out mentors, and never stop learning. Your journey will be uniquely yours, filled with highs and lows, but with resilience, creativity, and purpose, you can navigate it with confidence and joy.
One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
Absolutely, I am always looking for opportunities to partner and collaborate with like-minded individuals and businesses. In particular, I am interested in working with:
– **Jewelry Designers**: Collaborating on unique collections or sharing insights and resources.
– **Fashion Bloggers**: Partnering to showcase my jewelry in their content and reaching a wider audience together.
– **Small Businesses and Women-Owned Businesses**: Creating synergies to support and uplift each other through joint promotions, events, or product launches.
– **Fashion Shows and Publications**: Featuring my jewelry in fashion shows or publications to gain exposure and highlight the unique qualities of my pieces.
If you are interested in collaborating, I would love to connect! You can reach out to me via email or through my social media channels. Let’s create something beautiful together and make a lasting impact in our communities.
