Meet Simone Hunter

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Simone Hunter a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Simone, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?

Confidence has always been a part of who I am, and I have my upbringing to thank for that. As an only child, my parents always held me to a higher standard. They made sure I knew I was the prettiest and smartest in any room. Whether or not that was true didn’t matter because it gave me the mindset that I belonged—and that was all I needed.

I’m so grateful for that foundation. It gave me the kind of self-esteem that sticks with you through life. Add to that a personality that connects easily with others, and it’s like a confidence cheat code. Now, as an adult, I never feel unequipped to walk into any room, no matter the setting. It’s that combination of upbringing and natural ability to relate to people that keeps me grounded and ready for whatever comes my way.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I’m Simone Hunter, the founder and owner of On Brand Creative Agency. I help entrepreneurs across a variety of industries bring their visions to life by offering services like social media consulting, brand and social media strategy, brand photography and videography, and web design. What I find most exciting about my work is the ability to take a client’s idea and turn it into something tangible, cohesive, and visually stunning that truly connects with their audience.

The special thing about On Brand Creative Agency is the personal touch and attention to detail I bring to every project. My clients often tell me they feel like they’re my only client, which is exactly how I want them to feel. Building trust is at the heart of what I do—it’s why so many of my clients return year after year for new projects or brand expansions.

Right now, I’m focused on scaling my business and continuing to help Black entrepreneurs elevate their brands. I want to show that businesses owned by people who look like me can not only succeed but thrive in a way that feels polished, intentional, and professional.

There are always new things in the works! I’m currently working with several clients on exciting launches, website redesigns, and creative campaigns. Expansion is on the horizon, and I’m looking forward to taking On Brand Creative Agency to the next level. Stay tuned—there’s so much more to come!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Looking back, three key qualities have been instrumental in my journey: the ability to connect with people, a strong attention to detail, and effective organization and time management.

First, the ability to connect with people has been essential. I’ve always believed that energy is everything. If we don’t vibe on a personal level, it’s unlikely we’ll vibe professionally, so I pay close attention to that. Building genuine connections has helped me create lasting relationships with clients and collaborators.

Second, paying attention to detail is non-negotiable, especially when you’re helping people build their brands. The small things matter, from making sure their visuals are cohesive to ensuring their messaging aligns perfectly with their goals. It’s something that has set my work apart and continues to be a major focus in everything I do.

Finally, organization and time management have been game-changers for me. When I first started almost four years ago, I was all over the place—trying to do everything at once with no real structure. Over time, I’ve learned how to streamline my processes and be more intentional with my time. This has allowed me to be more effective, both for my clients and for myself.

For anyone early in their journey, my advice is to lean into these areas. Work on building genuine relationships—it’s not just about networking; it’s about truly connecting. Practice paying attention to the little things because that’s what makes a big difference. And find systems that help you stay organized and on track. You don’t have to get it all perfect right away, but the sooner you develop these skills, the more effective and confident you’ll become.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

Absolutely! I’m always looking to collaborate with other entrepreneurs and creatives. I’ve learned that I can’t do everything by myself, and some of the best work comes from combining talents and ideas. Whether it’s working together on projects, brainstorming fresh approaches, or creating something entirely new, I’m all for partnerships that bring value and creativity to the table.

I’m also really interested in expanding into more speaking engagements, podcasts, and opportunities to share my story and expertise. If you’re reading this and feel like we’d vibe or have an idea for how we could collaborate, I’d love to hear from you! You can connect with me through my website or reach out on social media—let’s create something amazing together!
