Hi Sina, so happy to have you on the platform and I think our readers are in for a treat because you’ve got such an interesting story and so much insight and wisdom. So, let’s start with a topic that is relevant to everyone, regardless of industry etc. What do you do for self-care and how has it impacted you?
Earlier this year, I quit drinking alcohol, and the decision has transformed my life — physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Combined with consistent exercise and a balanced diet (with room for ice cream, sweets and the occasional soda), this shift has strengthened my overall wellness and improved how I show up in every part of my life.

I’m committed to a self-care routine that supports both body and mind. I love spa treatments like massages, facials, infrared saunas and body wraps, and I frequently use the hot tub, sauna and steam room at my local fitness club.

Mental and spiritual self-care are just as important to me. I practice mindfulness to stay grounded and respond authentically rather than react impulsively. During the fall, I met a shamanic practitioner at the Joshua Tree Music Festival who encouraged me to begin a personal breathwork practice. Since then, I’ve been participating in a weekly virtual breathwork session led by an Ayurvedic practitioner, where I practice mindful breathing alongside a community of strangers. Meditation and other grounding rituals also play a big role in keeping me centered.

Self-care looks different for everyone. Four years ago, I sold my BMW and decided to live car-less since the neighborhood I live in makes walking easy. Strolling through my favorite areas of San Diego has become a form of self-care that keeps me connected to my surroundings. And at the end of a long day, relaxing on my couch and watching TV can be just as restorative.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I consider myself multifaceted, especially in my work. My primary career is in public relations. As a publicist at my PR firm, I help strategically guide clients and secure meaningful media placements. Earning coverage in articles, podcasts and television remains one of the most rewarding parts of my job because it’s the visibility clients want most.

I also offer career coaching services to college students, recent graduates and seasoned professionals navigating career changes. I started this during COVID five years ago to help others build confidence, make progress in their job search or transition and learn how to network effectively. More of my professional journey is featured in SD Voyager’s Daily Inspiration series.

Content creation has recently become another creative outlet for me. Social media is such a powerful tool for storytelling, influence and showcasing people, places and experiences. Sharing the many facets of my life — from wellness to food to fashion — has naturally drawn opportunities to partner with brands I love. It’s rewarding to connect with my community by offering value, inspiration and recommendations rather than gatekeeping.

Service is also a major part of my purpose. I’ve supported various initiatives focused on people experiencing homelessness. According to the Regional Task Force on Homelessness, San Diego saw promising declines in 2025 — a 7% regional decrease, with roughly 9,905 people counted, and nearly a 14% drop within the City of San Diego — but there is still so much work to do to humanize and support this population. I volunteer at a local church providing clothing, hot meals and showers, and I offer pro bono PR support to nonprofits because I know strong publicity can fuel awareness and funding.

I’m also launching a new digital storytelling project in 2026 — a passion project that will bring together my love for narrative, community-building and creativity. Stay tuned!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Three qualities have shaped my journey:

1. A willingness to change when change is necessary to reach my goals.
2. Doing my best without being overly self-critical.
3. Leaning on my support system of friends and family.

These qualities have helped me stay focused, disciplined and grounded while still maintaining community, connection and a healthy work-life balance.

I didn’t always understand these strengths. It took mindfulness, reflection and years of trial and error to build a rhythm that supports all areas of my life. My advice to anyone early in their journey is to pursue balance — in relationships, career, spirituality, physical health and mental wellness. Nothing should feel forced. There’s a difference between pushing yourself outside your comfort zone and forcing something that isn’t aligned.

Enjoy every moment, practice kindness with yourself and others and stay open to learning. With consistent self-work and honest effort, you can do almost anything you set your mind to.
