We were lucky to catch up with Si’Neka Demery recently and have shared our conversation below.
Si’Neka, thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts with us today. We’re excited to dive into your story and your work, but first let’s start with a broader topic that might be stopping many of our readers from pursuing their dreams – haters, nay-sayers, etc. How have you managed to persist despite haters and nay-sayers that inevitably follow folks who are doing something unique, special or off the beaten path?
I persist despite haters and nay-sayers because I know that I am going to prove them wrong and now they’ll get a front row seat to watch how amazing my God and my work ethic is! Living with Sickle Cell Anemia since birth has always made me different from others; especially growing up in the suburbs where the disease is foreign. So I’ve developed tough skin earlier in life than most. I’ve always been my own biggest advocate, supporter, friend, and love.
I know that haters are simply people who cannot believe in themselves and they will always have something negative to say about someone who’s actively following their own dreams and living it!
I am already a very head strong and confident person but when I started Akenis, I was told by my mentor that with each level of success comes a new set of “evil eyes” and “negative tongues” but I should always keep my focus on Akenis and the people who show genuine and authentic support and celebration for the brand!
That’s what makes Akenis such a positive space! We literally prove haters wrong! 😁

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
With Akenis llc, I have successfully created a safe space for women to come together to empower, celebrate, and support each other while learning natural ways to live a happy and fulfilling life.
Akenis started out with only a few hundred women and how now grown into the thousands! This brand is such a special part of my life and those it has impacted around the world! I am truly blessed and humbly grateful to have the honor of hearing some of the most triumphant stories of women with chronic illnesses, domestic violence survivors, and young women who battle body image issues!
I want to let women know that despite the pressure the world puts on us to be perfect physically, emotionally, and mentally; it’s okay to not be okay sometimes.
It’s okay to have a little stomach pudge that hangs over your jeans, it’s okay to have small lips, it’s okay to have a small butt, it’s okay to just be yourself and love every aspect of you! That’s the mission behind Akenis llc and we are always looking for brand Ambassadors and influencers to help us spread the word!
We have our Akenis podcast which is available on Amazon Music, Audible, IheartRadio, & Spotify! We get pretty raw and unfiltered on the podcast, featuring special guests sharing their stories!
We also have our Akenis Karma Series available on our website! If you love short stories then this is definitely something I encourage readers to check out! It features real life stories shared from the view points of people whom have lived them! Each chapter is a different story and we have had such an incredible amount of positive feedback from readers!
We are always up to something at Akenis llc, so make sure you are following us on Instagram @Akenis_llc and also subscribe to our website Akenisllc.com!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back I know that my career within the medical field has played a huge impact in my journey as an entrepreneur , public speaker, and Sickle Cell Disease & Domestic Violence advocate.
Three qualities that every entrepreneur should have is Empathy, Humility, and an Open Mindset. You will NOT succeed if you do not practice these three skills. Too often people over look ground breaking opportunities because they think they are better than the offer. I’ve had some of my greatest successes from some of the most over looked sources.
If I could give a simple piece of advice to new entrepreneurs it would be to celebrate every step of the process. Embrace and acknowledge every win, redirection, failure, and missed opportunity because these are the moments that truly shape who you are and what your business will be.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
Yes! I am always looking to collaborate with other brands, businesses, celebrities, and influencers who want to advocate for women living a healthier life physically, emotionally, and mentally! I especially want to continue to spread the word about Sickle Cell Anemia and the millions of people around the world it impacts. The disease just doesn’t get enough main stream coverage as it should and from my own personal experience living with it; it is a constant daily obstacle that only others with the disease understand.
So if you’re about positivity and making the world brighter through organic products, resources, and events than we want to work with you!
