Meet Siquoyia Crump

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Siquoyia Crump. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Siquoyia, thank you so much for joining us today. Let’s jump right into something we’re really interested in hearing about from you – being the only one in the room. So many of us find ourselves as the only woman in the room, the only immigrant or the only artist in the room, etc. Can you talk to us about how you have learned to be effective and successful in situations where you are the only one in the room like you?

I had to learn how to be effective in tech, especially as a Black woman with locs—because representation is still so limited. I’ve learned to stay ahead of the curve by being proactive, always staying curious, and documenting everything I do. That combination has helped me navigate spaces where I often stand out and turn that visibility into value.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I’m a multi-passionate creative and technologist. By day, I work professionally in tech, but I also express myself as an abstract soul singer—my music is available on all major streaming platforms under the name Siquoyia Blue. I’m also the host of the Blu Alchemist podcast, where I challenge societal norms and spark meaningful conversations. In addition, I created Dating Assassins, a card game designed to help daters uncover true compatibility. I’m currently focused on expanding its reach through strategic marketing. The deck is available for purchase now, and I always appreciate feedback and reviews from those who’ve played it!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Curiosity has been a powerful force for me—it keeps the mind sharp, fuels creativity, and pushes dreams forward. My advice? Stay curious. Question everything. Explore, research, and never stop learning. It’s how you grow and discover what truly lights you up.

Confidence is essential, especially when others don’t understand your path or try to steer you away from it. You have to stand ten toes down in what you believe in. For me, confidence came from realizing two things: we’re all human and nobody knows everything—and one day, we’re all going to leave this earth. So why not live boldly and on your own terms?

Authenticity was non-negotiable for me. Pretending to be someone else is exhausting and unfulfilling. I’ve only got one life, and I intend to live it as my full, unfiltered self. That’s where the magic is.

If you knew you only had a decade of life left, how would you spend that decade?

A decade might sound like a long time, but it would fly by. If I knew I only had ten years left, I’d focus on truly living—not just existing. I’d worry less about chasing money and more about creating meaningful experiences. I’d record at least three albums to leave behind my voice and artistry, indulge in delicious food without guilt, and take out a loan if needed just to travel to all the countries I’ve dreamed of visiting. I’d live fully, freely, and unapologetically.
