We caught up with the brilliant and insightful SIX Marie a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
SIX , we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?
I’ve overcame a lot of struggles in my life especially when I was in my late teens early 20s a number of health issues that had my weight Fluctuating over a extended period of time and it was hard to find any self confidence but over time as my health started taking a turn for the good I always realized that it’s not about how I look but who I am as a person and how I see myself and not how other Processed me and I know I’m a awesome, talented and good hearted person so that’s what keeps my self-esteem so high
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I’ve started my name and brand SIX Marie about 3 years ago that how long I’ve also been rapping and writing music. Entertaining people was something I always loved to do and rapping has just that on a different level.
I love to make music videos and go out and meet people.
One of my most viewed videos is 410 a single also album that I collaborate with another artist M.F.I Kaos that has over 35k views and is also featured on World star hip hop.
I have a new video coming out in about a week called Pen2Paper
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Three skills I would say people need to be a music artist is Patience, consistency and drive.
You need to have patience because all good things come in time especially if you are consistent also stick with it Don’t get discouraged because you feel as though you’re not succeeding fast enough or not as much as the next person if you stay in your lane you won’t worry about traffic
