We recently connected with Sneha Nagar and have shared our conversation below.
Sneha, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
Developing confidence and self-esteem is an ongoing process that often combines personal experiences, intentional mindset shifts, and gradual skill-building for me. Moving halfway across the world to pursue my master’s degree at SCAD was one of the most significant leaps I’ve ever taken, and it initially filled me with uncertainty. However, that experience helped me realize that I could accomplish more than I had imagined by stepping into the unknown and challenging myself. Completing collaborative projects with brands like Lowe’s, MGM Resorts, and Sylvamo strengthened my skills and showed me that hard work and perseverance lead to success. Over time, each project and challenge I faced built my confidence as I saw the tangible results of my efforts.
Another crucial part of my journey has been embracing a mindset of self-awareness and acceptance. While I’ve always been passionate about creativity, I’ve learned to balance that with my strengths in management and strategy. Recognizing my abilities and celebrating my progress, no matter how small, has reinforced my self-esteem. Surrounding myself with positive influences and focusing on growth rather than perfection have been essential. I’ve come to appreciate my unique experiences and the global perspective I bring, which has deepened my confidence in my ability to lead, collaborate, and impact any project I take on.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I am focusing on building a career that blends creativity, strategy, and leadership. I come from a creative background, having studied design and brand management, allowing me to work on projects across industries. What excites me most is working with multidisciplinary teams, where I can take an idea from concept to execution. In recent years, I’ve worked on projects for major brands like Lowe’s, MGM Resorts, and Sylvamo through SCADpro. These experiences allowed me to lead teams, tackle diverse challenges, and use strategic thinking to deliver results that exceed expectations.
My ability to integrate design thinking with strategic management sets my work apart, ensuring that creativity and efficiency drive every project. I’m currently working part-time while actively looking for a full-time role in my background that utilizes my skills and has a rewarding impact. I am always eager to take on new opportunities that allow me to combine my creative expertise with my passion for leadership and innovation.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back, the three qualities that have most impacted my journey are perseverance, adaptability, and collaboration. Perseverance helped me push through challenges like moving halfway across the world to pursue my master’s degree during a pandemic. It taught me that consistent effort leads to success, no matter how uncertain things may feel. Adaptability has been vital in dynamic, fast-paced environments where timelines and goals often shift. While being a project manager, I quickly learned how to navigate changes and deliver results. Finally, collaboration has been central to my growth. Leading cross-functional teams in creative projects showed me that success often comes from valuing diverse perspectives and building solid relationships. For those early in their journey, my advice is to embrace challenges, remain adaptable, and invest in building strong partnerships with others, as these qualities will serve you well throughout your career.

Do you think it’s better to go all in on our strengths or to try to be more well-rounded by investing effort on improving areas you aren’t as strong in?
It’s crucial to balance building on your strengths and addressing areas for improvement. My passion for creativity led me to pursue a Bachelor’s in design, where I honed my design skills and immersed myself in fashion. However, through internships and starting my own clothing line, I discovered a hidden passion for the industry’s business side. This realization was transformative. It taught me that while having a well-rounded approach is valuable, finding your niche is even more critical for excelling.
Motivated by this insight, I pursued an MFA in Luxury and Brand Management at SCAD to deepen my understanding of strategy, branding, and business management. This experience enabled me to blend my creative skills with practical business knowledge, allowing me to lead projects for renowned brands. I believe in maximizing strengths, but I also recognize that investing in areas where you need growth creates a more versatile skill set. This approach has helped me lead effectively, adapt to challenges, and open new doors for development.
