We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Sno0py Watts a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Sno0py , looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
My work ethic is influenced by a variety of different factors. First, my parents. Growing up and watching them work hard to have whatever it is they wanted in life whether it be a new home, a nice vehicle, or even a new business venture. Seeing them achieve these things taught me about the immediate self discipline and outstanding work ethic needed to see any success in life. I cling to this lesson daily. Also, I’m inspired by life itself. I feel that the process of learning and evolving in your passion is one of the greatest things that anyone could ever experience in life. By getting to this place, you’re afforded the ability to truly thrive to higher heights than could’ve been imagined. This itself inspires me and also holds me accountable in taking on the daily tasks needed in order to maintain.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
Hello world, I’m Sno0py Watts, Drummer and Producer currently based in Atlanta, Georgia. As a South Florida native out of West Palm Beach I’ve shared a number of experiences that have all molded me into the person I am today. In 2011 I graduated from Palm Beach Lakes High and in 2015 again I graduated from Bethune Cookman University. It was at BCU where my life changed. In 2014, I began building my current company known to the world as D2AG. D2AG stands for Dedicated To Achieving Greatness. The mission of our company is to inspire individuals to identify their purpose and/or passion. We encourage them to share that gift with world. Our services include a clothing line, a record label, a Drumstick company, as well as a content production. Aside from this I’m also very blessed to travel the world working as a professional musician. You may have also seen me in magazines such as XXL Magazine, The Source, LA Reformer, Kazi, Disrupt, Voyage Savannah, The Life, SRQ, and more. To date, I’ve toured over 75 countries working with multiple bands. In fact, I’m currently sharing this story with you all while in Iceland touring with the BB King All Stars. I’m also excited to share that there has been lots of new music recently released produced by myself. Some of these songs include MDotXcellent’s “Wave” and “Smoke”, Young OG Rawby’s “Triple My Price” and “Don’t Bother Me” and more. These songs are available on all Digital Service Providers!
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
For me the three most important qualities to have is a relationship with God first and foremost (faith is vital on this journey). Second, I’d say it’s important to have the discipline to sacrifice the things that may be hindering you from possibly reaching the next level. The advantage of exercising this quality is that the sooner you have this mastered the better the outcome will be for you in the long run. It’s the lifeline to any success. Lastly, I’d say the largest quality of them all to have would be both perseverance and dedication. Without these things it would be nearly impossible to advance in any form of endeavor. You may not always feel like doing what it takes to stay the course; but with perseverance and dedication you’ll be guaranteed to push through no matter what. If I had any advice to offer to anyone it would be to master the above 3 qualities. After you’ve done this get ready to experience the journey of a lifetime!
