Meet Snow Datsiuk

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Snow Datsiuk a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Snow, so many exciting things to discuss, we can’t wait. Thanks for joining us and we appreciate you sharing your wisdom with our readers. So, maybe we can start by discussing optimism and where your optimism comes from?

My optimism comes from a very simple belief: no matter how hard life gets, it can’t stay that way forever. I always try to find something to hold on to — a hope, a dream, a vision — that I simply need to make real. I’ve always said that I’d rather regret trying something that didn’t work out than regret never trying at all. That mindset is what keeps me moving forward.

If something fails, it fails. But if you try and it works, then all the challenges, all the setbacks — they weren’t for nothing. I really believe that if you commit fully and put your mind to something, you can achieve anything.

Working on The Ethereal is a great example of that. My team and I started with no background in producing fashion shows. We came from different industries, but we had a vision. We were determined to execute it and make it work. Now we’ve produced the biggest New York Fashion Week show of 2024 and the largest Art Basel fashion show — and we’re just getting started. We’ve built an incredible community and felt so much support along the way. I’m really proud that through all the ups and downs, we stayed optimistic and kept going. That mindset is what made it possible.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

Since founding The Ethereal, I’ve had the chance to work with incredibly talented and creative people from all over the world. I’m really proud of building a platform that brings together designers, artists, musicians, models, and creators. We started in New York and Miami, and now we’re planning to expand to Canada and France.

One of the things that makes The Ethereal special is the mindset of the community — we all come from different backgrounds, but we share the drive to create something from scratch and to make the fashion and music industries more accessible and inclusive. Our shows are built around collaboration: designers work with performers, visual artists, and actors, creating immersive experiences that move beyond the traditional runway. We bring together art, music, fashion, and brand activations to create something new — and that’s why our events stand out and why people keep talking about them.

I was born and raised in Ukraine, studied in Canada, and now I’m based in New York. Canada introduced me to the music and fashion world, and when I moved to New York in 2022, the energy of the city pushed me to create something of my own. That’s how The Ethereal was born — a platform built by people from all walks of life, combining their experiences and talents.

Outside of The Ethereal, I’m also a singer-songwriter and a model. I used to be a makeup artist as well. As an artist who has moved between countries, I know firsthand how hard it is to build a network and find opportunities in new markets. That’s why creating a space where emerging and established artists can showcase their work, connect with international audiences, and meet industry professionals in person — without having to ‘pay to play’ — has always been a personal mission. We’ve already built strong relationships with record labels, music platforms, and major fashion and beauty brands.

At its core, The Ethereal is about connection — helping artists and creatives find their audience while giving the public a new kind of experience. For me, that’s incredibly exciting — being able to contribute to the culture and help shape the future of these industries.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

I think the three most impactful qualities in my journey have been:

Taking action and not fearing failure.
As I mentioned earlier, I really believe in going for it. I’m not afraid of rejection or things not working out — because if you never try, you’ll never know. Taking action, even if imperfect, moves you forward. And over time, if you keep working toward your goals, you can turn your vision into reality.

Building relationships and networking.
So much of what I’ve been able to accomplish has come from the people I’ve met. It’s incredibly important to find those who support your vision, share your work with new audiences, and open doors you couldn’t reach alone. That’s why I encourage people to attend events, introduce themselves, collaborate, and keep showing up. You never know which conversation will lead to your next opportunity.

Embracing multi-passion creativity.
For a long time, I was a singer, a model, a dancer, a makeup artist — and I used to think that trying too many things was a negative. But when The Ethereal was born, I realized that I could bring all of those skills into one space. I could conceptualize shows, perform, model, collaborate with designers — and wear many hats at once. I now see that being multi-passionate is an asset, not a flaw. It gives you a unique perspective and helps you create something different.

My advice for anyone early in their journey:

Don’t be afraid to start. Rejection will happen, but if you keep moving forward, you’ll get closer to your goals.

Put yourself out there — network, connect, and surround yourself with people who inspire and support you.

And finally, don’t box yourself in. If you love doing many things, lean into that. Your unique mix of passions can become your biggest strength.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?

I’m always looking for new creatives, professionals, and brands to collaborate with. You really never know what a collaboration might evolve into, so I always stay open to new people and ideas. And it doesn’t have to be limited to fashion, music, or art — sometimes the most unexpected partnerships create the most exciting experiences.

For example, we’ve worked with luxury transportation companies and even showcased an electric motorcycle installation during New York Fashion Week in February. That kind of cross-industry collaboration brought a really unique energy to the event and left a strong impression on guests.

I don’t have one specific type of partner in mind — I’m always looking to evolve The Ethereal shows and bring in new creative layers. So I’m open to working with brands and individuals from any background, as long as there’s a shared vision and passion for creating something special.

If anyone is interested in collaborating, we’re very accessible — people can DM us on social media, reach out via email, or connect through our website.
