We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful SoaR Zephy. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with SoaR Zephy below.
SoaR Zephy, thank you so much for taking the time to share your lessons learned with us and we’re sure your wisdom will help many. So, one question that comes up often and that we’re hoping you can shed some light on is keeping creativity alive over long stretches – how do you keep your creativity alive?
As a gaming creator that has been in the space for years, keeping up with trends and consuming content is a way to get inspiration & creative on your own videos. Occasionally burnouts, overconsumption, & bad habits can lead to lack creative & physical productivity. However, that does come down to disciplining yourself to make sure you manage your time to keep the creative process flowing. Times alone also allows you to think clearer on your issues. Allowing more creative space to flow naturally.
In simple terms, consume. Get inspired.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
My real name is Chad, online I’m referred to as “Zephy” as my alias. Through my socials, you will see my branding is referred as SoaR Zephy. “SoaR” is a gaming organization that focuses on creating engaging content centered around Call of Duty titles, Fortnite, Valorant, Apex Legends, and multiple popular FPS games with other gaming creators.
I myself Zephy, am a gaming content creator, primarily known for my sniping skills in the Call of Duty gaming community. I produce content on all my socials that revolves around Call of Duty sniper montages, fun, creative, or skillful challenges, and class setup guides. While I stream, I engage with a large audience that enjoys me reacting to their videos/montages of their best moments on Call of Duty. I’ve been a part of the gaming industry since I was 11 years old and manifested this as a career in 2017.
As of right now, I am creating content around the current Call of Duty titles: “Call of Duty: Black Ops 6” & a fan made “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 2011 Remastered”
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
As SoaR Zephy, I’d say the three qualities that have been most impactful in my journey are creativity, resilience, and community connection. These have shaped my path as a content creator and sniper in the Call of Duty scene, and they’re what keep me grinding. First, creativity is huge. Whether it’s pulling off a nasty trickshot in Call of Duty or editing a montage that shows off your best clips and hype music, being creative sets you apart. It’s about finding fresh ways to showcase sniper gameplay—like my “Best of MW3 Montage” or collabs with folks like OpTic Pamaj—and making content that keeps viewers hooked. For folks starting out, my advice is to experiment fearlessly. Try new editing styles, keep up with trends, learn programs, and most importantly, just be passionate about learning everything in the space. Don’t be afraid to fail; your first montage might not bang, but every upload teaches you something.
Second, resilience is non-negotiable. The gaming and content creation grind is tough—algorithm changes, demonetization, or just missing shots in a clutch moment can hit hard. I’ve had videos that don’t get the views I hoped for, but you push through. For example, when I started on TikTok, it took time to grow to 170,000 followers, but posting consistently, paid off. To new creators, my advice is to stay consistent and treat every setback as a chance to improve. If a clip gets no traction, analyze why—maybe tweak your thumbnail or post at a better time. Keep grinding, and don’t let a bad day stop you.
Third, community connection is what makes this journey real. Engaging with fans on Twitch, reacting to their montages or hyping up a challenge builds loyalty. My followers aren’t just numbers—they’re the ones hyping me up for the next video. For those early in their journey, focus on building real relationships. Reply to comments, jump in Discord, or host streams where you play with viewers. Be authentic—share a bit of your life, like I do on Instagram with my family or trips to San Diego—and your community will grow with you.
Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?
I’ll be real, feeling overwhelmed hits hard, especially when you’re juggling Twitch streams, editing montages, and keeping the vibes high for the community.
I usually step away and reset. Grinding out videos for YouTube or streaming for hours can fry your brain. When that happens, I take a quick break—maybe 10 minutes to grab a snack or step away from the setup for a few hours. My advice? Find your “pause button.” Go for a walk, pet your dog, or just vibe to something that clears your mind. It clears the mental lag.
When there’s too much on my plate—say, a TikTok to post, a challenge to prep, or a collab with another creator—I break it down. I’ll focus on one task and knock it out before moving to the next. For new creators, make a list of what’s gotta get done—prioritize the high-impact stuff, like a video that could pop off, and save the small stuff, like replying to DMs, for later.
Take a breather, lock in on one thing at a time.
