Meet Sofia Stefou

We were lucky to catch up with Sofia Stefou recently and have shared our conversation below.

Sofia , thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?

I think it comes from not always having a Plan B. From having to move forward in situations where there was not always an opportunity to turn back. On some level this is a habit that I’ve adopted and a way to approach all my challenges.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I’m an actor and producer that currently works on projects in LA, but has also worked in projects in Canada and India. I love to tell different types of stories from sci-fi fantasy to thrillers and rom-coms.

I’m currently the executive producer of a kid’s entertainment property called Earth Era 3 as well as in development on a female-led thriller.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

The three qualities I think that have been the most impactful have been to stay flexible, curious and optimistic.

Developing or improving on these qualities is really about a mindset. Making a conscious decision to stay flexible, curious and optimistic even when it’s hard and it doesn’t seem like anything will work out. Fighting to take on tasks that you can’t see how they would be relevant to your current journey, choosing to ask why through situations rather than deciding you already have all the answers and really digging to find the positive in any situation.
