Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Sonia Nilsen. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Sonia , really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
Looking back life gives you glimpses of what your authentic purpose is. For instance when I was young and living in Minnesota my mother would be making home made yogurt and talking to me about how sprouts developed . Now this was in the early 60s so not many people loved or knew about sprouts grown in jars like she did. Then in 4 rth grade I remember my health teacher exclaiming what an excited young girl I was always raising my hand about the latest health question and then of course I had a real teepee and wore moccasins and was always healing or creating a safe or sacred space for the birds and other animals that needed refuge . They perhaps had bumped their wing or ran into something but they let me pick them up and place them in the teepee with water and I would find worms for them to have, somehow by grace I knew that they needed space to heal for 3 days . Then I opened up the tarp and they would fly away ….This led me down the years with my own health crisis at 28 and my inward turn to healing for myself …

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
So my healing crisis lead me to Dr. Bernard Jenson’s work Tissue Cleansing Thru Bowel Management a very informative book which put me on an intensive 7 day bentonite clay, herbs and a psyllium drink and juice. I then had my first healing miracle where my body removed a colon blockage . I then began studying all the great masters of naturopathic medicine and I would begin multiple fasts and different healing programs . Then I met my partner and we opened up a health food store in Roswell and I began working with customers and alternative Drs in the area regarding different paths and modalities for healing . Understanding that there is not a one stop regimen for people and different bodies handle foods and herbs in a completely different way . I investigated body typing , blood typing herbal medicine, nutraceuticals and many forms of detoxing helping children and parents and their parents.. So that is what I do today I simplify a persons personal program as we peel the onion back …and create healing miracles from removing the bad stuff and bringing in the new . This brings light and healing and a sense of rebirth that we all need . Also I work with people on a sliding scale and i keep it very simple depending on what they are ready to let go of and the timing is very important . Minimum of 5 days is needed for some form of transformation I always 3 days the body is working dilegently and relief comes the 4rth or 5th day . Chronic conditions take longer and multiple programs are needed I use food herbs and supplements and I am excited I have written on a new book called “Youthing” with some cleanses in the back for everyone to enjoy .

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Faith: that aligning with God or ones higher power will lead you to your next step . Faith in action takes practice like a spiritual muscle .One needs to keep surrendering and keep surrendering till the answer appears or the path has clarity.
Courage : to keep moving forward to say no to people or toxic situations knowing that one truly desires peace joy and a healthy lifestyle emotionally physically and spiritually.
Conviction : a knowing that you are loved you can be connected to the experience of your creator that you can be healed at a very deep level . That you are healed on a very deep level and that you continue to align with like minded souls.
Advice take it one day at a time perhaps one breath at a time . Aho

As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?
The first book I had mentioned which was “Tissue Cleansing Thru Bowel Management ” by Bernard Jensen D.C. and the second book which I tell people I slept with it under my pillow was Spiritual Nutrition by Dr. Gabriel Cousins. Now I have written a book that thanks these and other great herbalists and Naturopaths for their knowledge and love of mankind to use natural modalities to heal our conditions (disease) from modern ways of living and aberrant thought.
