Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Sonika Surati. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Sonika, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
Jumpstarting! Embracing my passions, what I was good at, and finding a way to build on that. In today’s day and age, we are fortunate enough to have the opportunity to embrace our passions and create a career out of them. Social Media is one of the things all of us have in common, and using that to build a business or sharing your hobbies has so much potential. There is space for everyone and putting those elements together and building on that has so much possibility, so my advice for everyone out there who has a goal in mind; no matter how big or little – go for it!
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I am a fashion, beauty, and lifestyle blogger/influencer. You can find me over at StyledbySonika.com and on Social Media as StyledbySonika. My brand focuses primarily on fashion/style inspiration and I love helping others find the best deals, outfits, and so much more through my social channels. I am a mom of 3, which plays a huge role in my day to day and things I share on my platform, so you can be sure to find tons of parenting and kid friendly finds as well! I have always wanted to start my own business and it is something I have finally started working on this year as well. I hope to get that up and going by the end of the year!
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
PASSION. Without it, you’ll never be the best version of yourself/your brand and what you have to offer. They say “if you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life” and I couldn’t agree more.
PATIENCE. At the end of the day, every goal, startup, job, etc. requires patience. I believe it is the number one skill to success, which we all know doesn’t happen overnight, and the sooner we come to terms with that, the more likely you are to succeed!
SUPPORT. Whether it be from friends and family, the people you meet along the way, or the audience you’ve built online; we all need it!
One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
As a content creator, collaborating is always something I am open to. One thing I love more than anything when it comes to Styled by Sonika is creating relationships with brands I genuinely love and in return sharing these brands with my audience. With that said, there is always room for collaborating with different brands and creators, after all it only helps blossom what I have already created, so why not! My website has a contact page, and my social media inboxes are always open!
