Meet Sophia Esteban

We recently connected with Sophia Esteban and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Sophia, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?

My journey to discovering my purpose has been one of evolution, creativity, and service. From a young age, I knew I wanted to help people and that the traditional path of a “normal office job” wasn’t for me. I felt a deeper pull to connect, create, and make a meaningful impact in the lives of others. It wasn’t until later in life that I fully realized just how creative I am and how much joy I find in expressing that creativity.

This realization didn’t happen overnight. It came through a mix of personal growth, professional exploration, being opportunistic and open-minded. Early in my career, I began working in marketing and event planning, two fields that allowed me to blend strategy with artistry. I thrived in environments where I could dream big, execute bold ideas, and bring people together. I discovered that my creativity wasn’t just about generating ideas—it was about using those ideas to uplift communities, tell stories, and spark inspiration.

Interestingly, if you had told me in college that I’d end up in marketing, I would have called you crazy! But discovering my niche within this field where I could merge my love for creativity with strategic impact was the trick that unlocked so much of my potential.

My purpose became even clearer as I began aligning my work with my personal values. I’ve always believed in the power of passion, authenticity, and connection. Whether it’s helping small businesses and nonprofits through my marketing agency, Crown Marketing, or reimagining events like the Linda Vista Multicultural Fair, I’ve found immense fulfillment in using my skills to support others and celebrate diversity.

Balancing my professional ambitions with my spiritual and personal growth has also played a key role. While I’ve made great strides in healing and growing, I know the work is ongoing. I’ve embraced inner work, cultivated a new sense of self-love, and focused on dismantling old patterns that don’t serve me. These experiences have taught me that purpose isn’t just about what you do—it’s about who you are and how you show up in the world. This journey has been about becoming the truest version of myself and channeling that passion into everything I do.

Today, I’m proud to say that my purpose is a blend of creativity and connection. It’s about finding beauty in collaboration, honoring my intuition, and never losing sight of the joy that comes from doing what you love. My path has shown me that purpose is less about the destination and more about the journey of discovering who you are truly meant to be.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I am the founder and Creative Director of Crown Marketing & Management, a boutique agency that specializes in the art of creativity and connection. My work revolves around helping businesses, nonprofits, and live events tell their stories in ways that are authentic and impactful. From social media campaigns to corporate branding projects and large-scale event planning, every project I take on reflects my passion for building relationships and creating meaningful experiences.

What excites me most about my work is the diversity of opportunities it brings. One day, I might be planning an event that celebrates cultural heritage, like the Linda Vista Multicultural Fair, and the next, I’m working with B2C brands to develop engaging marketing strategies or refining a corporate rebrand. I also get to travel all over the world, which allows me to immerse myself in different cultures, and get out of my own bubble, while doing what I love.

Currently, I’m focused on expanding the reach of Crown by collaborating with more local businesses and nonprofits. I’m also exploring new ways to integrate innovative technology into my events and campaigns to elevate client experiences. For example, I’m developing a series of workshops to help small business owners navigate the complexities of digital marketing, empowering them to connect with their audiences more effectively.

Another exciting initiative is my work with an aviation technology solutions company. Through strategic marketing and event management, I help them execute large-scale conferences and recently led their rebranding efforts. It’s an exciting blend of creativity and technical expertise that challenges me to think outside the box.

At the heart of everything I do is a commitment to authenticity and connection. I believe that every project is an opportunity to celebrate diversity, build relationships, and create something that truly resonates with people. Whether I’m working with a startup, a nonprofit, or a global brand, my goal is always the same: to make an impact through creativity and connection.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Trust: Trusting in your own creative abilities and instincts is paramount. You have to take a chance on yourself and believe in the value you bring to the table. People work with you for a reason, and leaning into that trust allows you to grow and take risks. For those starting out, my advice is simple: remind yourself that no one else has your unique perspective, so trust in it and let it shine.

Adaptability: In marketing, events, and life, adaptability has been a key to navigating challenges and opportunities. The ability to pivot and adjust has allowed me to turn unexpected situations into learning experiences and solutions. To develop adaptability, I encourage others to stay open-minded and view obstacles as opportunities to grow and innovate.

Communication: Speak up for what you believe in. As much as asking for help is important, listening and receiving feedback are equally vital. But communication isn’t just about listening—it’s about having the courage to share the ideas you’re afraid to share. Who knows? Someone might say yes or love your idea just as much as you do. My advice is to be bold and let your voice be heard, because that’s how true collaboration and creativity thrive.

These qualities have shaped my journey, and I believe they can empower others to find success and fulfillment in their own paths.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

Absolutely! Collaboration is at the heart of what I do. I love partnering with businesses, nonprofits, and creatives who are passionate about storytelling, community impact, and innovative ideas. Whether it’s co-creating a campaign, planning a unique event, or developing a brand from the ground up, I thrive in collaborative environments where ideas flow freely, and the focus is on making a meaningful impact.

At Crown Marketing, we always consider talented local content creators, designers, and creative pros who want to grow their portfolios while working on exciting projects. We provide various opportunities to collaborate on campaigns, events, and branding initiatives that challenge and inspire.

I’m especially drawn to projects that celebrate diversity, amplify voices, entertain or explore creative solutions to challenges or resonate with my field of expertise: hospitality or entertainment. If you’re someone who shares these values and is looking for a partner to bring your vision to life, I’d love to connect!
