Meet Sophia Kaur

We recently connected with Sophia Kaur and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Sophia , thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
I get my work ethic from my mom. This woman worked full time when I was a child and then came home and made dinner from scratch everyday. We rarely ever had leftovers and only went out to eat for special occasions. Her vision to make your dreams come true has transferred to me. I love what I do bc I know that’s what I want to do in life. Thank you mom, for always teaching me to stay focused and work hard to make dreams come true-even if they’re not the original dreams you had in mind for yourself.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I love to make east recipes that are quick and easy. Good food doesn’t have to take all day to make. There are easy short cuts and tips that can result in home cooked food that appears to have taken all day. to make. This is all apparent and at the fore front in my new book coming out-The lazy girl’s guide to Delicious Dinners. These 60 no-stress, limited mess, and sure to impress recipes are perfect for not only busy people but also beginner cooks and people who are learning to master cooking.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I think three things that were really important in my journey were consistency, believing in yourself, and being your true self. You can’t see result overnight. I have been doing this everyday for the past four years, while saying this I will also say it’s not quantity you want but quality. Quality in presenting yourself takes me to my second point- always, always, always, be yourself. Don’t try to be what you think people want to see. I talk to my audience and make my videos as though I were sitting at a table with a friend of mine. That authenticity carries over and people know when you’re real or not. Most importantly, believe in yourself and believe you can do this. You know your stuff and be proud to know. Talk with authority and be proud that you are doing better and more than you were yesterday.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
I always love to collaborate with other food creators or brands that I use organically. I don’t like to partner with brands or products that don’t really have anything to do with my niche or products and brands that I don’t use in my own kitchen. I truly love when companies reach out and I already have their products in my house that way, not only are my opinions genuine but when I share with my audience they know that it’s real. Again- authenticity should always be a constant.
