Meet Squallé

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Squallé a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Squallé , appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?

Definitely come from a strong family that has been tested and has persevered time and time again! My mother was super strong and determined. I believe I got my work ethic from her. Growing up I used to look at my environment and I would dream about making it out. I promised myself that I was going to do whatever it took to free my family from poverty! I’ve always been a mentally strong person since a child. I knew that if I could train my mind it would help me to be able to handle adversity in the long run!

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I was Born and raised in the city of Athens, Georgia. I’ve worked hard to establish myself and I’m now considered amongst the Top Tier of artist in the Classic City. My sound is unique and I do believe that I am a very versatile artist. I am an Artist, writer, entrepreneur and coach! I love to constantly be ahead of the curve and I always push myself creatively! Born December 28th, 1990 I grew up during what’s considered the Golden Era of Hip Hop and it’s why I fell in Love with the art form ! Aside from music, I love to give back to my community so I saved some money and started a Non Profit organization called The League of Step Inc . We take children in the community and teach them how to step, offer community service opportunities, financial Literacy, tutoring, mentoring, and last but not least traveling to competitions! I am also CEO of Black Liaison Atl, a business rooted in artist development, consulting , and providing network opportunities! Everything I do now is aimed to help and I know that I got that from my mother. I’ve always tried to live my life by the mantra “Be a Dope Soul”! Over the years I’ve been blessed enough to release over ten diverse Projects with my most Successful Album to date Entitled “Uptown Baby 2” being released on September 16, 2024 in dedication to my mother who passed away on August 11th, 2023.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

I would say my three greatest qualities would be my Passion , ambition, and humility! My top 3 skills would definitely be my ability to communicate my art through my lyrics , my versatility, and my Musicality! I learned to always study the game, pay homage to those who paved the way before us, and to never be complacent! My best advice to artists and entrepreneurs is to always stay true to yourself!

What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?

I meditate! I regroup and focus on what it is most important at that time . I definitely take breaks when needed and do things that make me happy. For me it’s playing basketball, or listening to music , watching a funny movie , maybe listen to a motivational speaker.
