Meet Stacey-Ann Steele

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Stacey-Ann Steele a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Stacey-Ann, so great to have you with us today. There are so many topics we want to ask you about, but perhaps the one we can start with is burnout. How have you overcome or avoided burnout?
Honestly, burnout is a term that I know all too well. In 2021, my then workplace had to make redundant a lot of employees due to COVID-19. This resulted in more work and less staff. While I was not made redundant, I had a lot of work to do to make up for the lack of staff. Long story short, I was burnt out. This was solidified by a doctor’s visit which resulted in me taking sick leave for one week. Ever since then I just pace myself and not take on more than I need to because I would not want to experience that again. I think I have been doing a good job so far!

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
Over the last year, I decided to venture into the world of Real Estate by becoming a Real Estate Associate. It was more work than I anticipated; but I felt that it would complement my 9 to 5 job as an Attorney-at-Law; since I was already exposed to land law. Also as a homeowner, I wanted to help people find their dream home or investment property. After much discussion and support, I was convinced that this was the path for me and enrolled with the Real Estate Training Institute and began my real estate journey; which is chronicled on my Instagram @sold_by_staceyann and Tik Tok @corporatechickjm

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
The three qualities, skills or areas of knowledge that are the most impactful for me are:

1. Research – you have to research whatever area you want to pursue to ensure that it is right for you and that you can excel at it. Mediocrity is not an option. Always be willing to grow and learn in the process.

2. Staying motivated- it is important to stay driven and keep your eye on the prize. If you reach or achieve your intended goal…awesome! Set a new goal and keep at it! Motivation will keep you going and prevent you from becoming complacent.

3.Making time for yourself – prioritising yourself is not selfish! You need to be your best to stay motivated and do what you love, so take time for you, ALWAYS!

Tell us what your ideal client would be like?
An ideal client for me is anyone who is serious about buying, renting or selling property. If you are buying property, you need to be serious enough to have a pre-approval at hand and ready to visit listings and close the deal in as short a time as possible! However, if you are not in a position to provide the above or you are just now ready, then a referral works too! Also, I am happy to help anyone who needs to know the first steps to take in the home buying process; because sometimes people just do not know and they need a helping hand.
