Meet Staci Rogers

We were lucky to catch up with Staci Rogers recently and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Staci with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?

I would like to say ‘it’s just in my blood’, but truthfully- I was born and raised in a family of hard workers! I can’t name a single person in my immediate family that doesn’t have a good work ethic. My grandparents, my aunts, my uncles, my sisters, my parents, myself- we’re all very hard workers, and I hope my husband and I will instil a good work ethic in our own daughter!

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I’m a photographer! My job is to capture irreplaceable moments in time on film… well digitally! That’s the best job description I can give you for what I do. I think what I find most exciting and enjoyable about photography is that it’s never the same. All of my people are different, all of my photos are different. Every artists is different, and all of art is different. See what I mean? It’s never the same!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Oh wow, what a question! I think as far as qualities/skills and knowledge that were impactful or helpful would be that I’m really outspoken, I’m not afraid to walk up and talk to people or try and start a conversation with someone that I don’t know. Skills.. do artists really need skill? Just kidding! There is a level of skill that can’t be taught in photography (that I’ve ever noticed) and that’s just having an eye for ‘the’ moments, or ‘the’ photo, and being quick enough to recognise those moments, aim and get the shot! As far as knowledge goes, I started with nothing. I didn’t know the first thing about the camera I was holding so the knowledge about all of this came later, and now I’m just happy to help others if I can!

The best advice that I can give someone who is just starting whatever journey they want to be on is to not stop! Keep pushing! Keep moving! Keep going! Steady your pace, and shoot for the stars, you never know where you’ll end up!

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

YES! The answer will always be YES to this question, and I see it a lot so YES YES YES! I am so eager to meet and work with other creatives! I think maybe one of my ideal people to create with is someone who wouldn’t mind riding around, bouncing ideas off each other and stopping along the road for some beautiful shots! Maybe a day in the studio just taking glam shots, or working with different lighting!

If you’re looking to collaborate, I’ll make sure my socials are linked in this interview!
