We recently connected with Stacii Floyd and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Stacii , really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
I found my purpose by using my talents. At a young age I knew I wanted to be a musician. I was around musicians all the time because I was involved with my grandmother’s band. She would always told me I had the talent, but I was scared to express it in public. Once I did, I knew that was my purpose.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
Stacii Floyd started doing music when he was eight years old. He graduated from the media tech institute in Dallas, Texas recording engineering in 2008. For years he tried to break into the music industry, seeing no actual results. With no real outlet for music in his area. In 2014 he started his own record label called II Productions. Using all the lessons he learned from the previous years. He self-educated himself to guide his own career. From 2014 to 2019 he has released multiple projects on his own. For him and others. During that period of time as well he threw multiple events to bring awareness to his music and craft. We wanted to start these courses to give knowledge about the future of the music industry. We also want to pass down life-changing opportunities for underprivileged music students. To make a change, we have to provide opportunities to grow in a positive environment. I have experienced this poverty and was lucky enough to know and experience slim to no opportunities. TWith the knowledge that we obtained, we wanted to share that with the youth so they would nhis is why these programs and services are the first steps in changing your life. So step up and take the first steps to change your life for the better. ot make the same mistakes that he made in our musical career. HNDP was a perfect spot for us to do such a thing. We offer not only his recording engineer knowledge but, the knowledge we learned from being in the music industry. This includes business plans, organizing events, vocal and musical expertise, and so on. We vowed to our students that we didn’t want the next generation to have to go through as many mistakes as he did. To make sure all kids in Los Angeles have an outlet for information, opportunities, and 101 guidance in their music industry. As we would say “ being a mentor at HNDP is so important because it gives me an opportunity to give back to the community in the industry we love the most.”
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Dedication, Motivation, and trusting my instincts. I would tell the next generation that you have to be very headstrong. A lot of obstacles are going to happen on the way to your purpose. You can’t be afraid to make mistakes because that’s the best way to learn. At the in of the day it’s your dream, who is going to believe in it more than you.
