Meet Stacy Anderson

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Stacy Anderson. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Stacy below.

Hi Stacy, so happy to have you on the platform and I think our readers are in for a treat because you’ve got such an interesting story and so much insight and wisdom. So, let’s start with a topic that is relevant to everyone, regardless of industry etc. What do you do for self-care and how has it impacted you?

Self-care for me means taking care of the basics—eating well, staying active, drinking plenty of water, and making sleep a priority. These simple changes have made such a difference in how I feel and function day to day. I’ve also been working on how I react to my emotions, reminding myself to focus on the facts before letting my feelings take over. It’s not always easy, but it helps me stay grounded and approach situations with a clearer head.

By prioritizing my needs, I’ve become a better mom and feel more positive overall. A big turning point for me was taking a leap into a new career as a real estate agent in my mid-40s. It’s been empowering and has reignited my motivation and drive. Being diagnosed with ADD as an adult has also been eye-opening—it’s helped me understand myself better and figure out ways to manage tasks more effectively.

Meditation has also become an important part of my routine, helping me stay calm and more present in the moment. It’s taught me how to be mindful, to focus on the good in my life, and to face challenges with a more positive perspective. I’ve been able to use it as a tool to look ahead to the future with hope and excitement, which has made all the difference in staying balanced and happy.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I spent years as a stay-at-home mom to my four amazing kids, and I loved every single moment of it. When they got older, I started working as a gymnastics coach so I could ease my way into being a working parent but still be present for my kids. It was the perfect way to balance my passion for working with kids and being there for my family.

I realized I needed something more stable and financially smart for myself and my children. I’ll admit, I was scared to take the leap into real estate—it was a big step outside my comfort zone. But with the constant support of my family and friends, I knew I had to give it a shot. Starting a new career in my 40s showed my kids that it’s okay to make changes, no matter how big or small, and that it’s never too late to go after something you’ve always dreamed of. Life hasn’t always gone as planned, but I’ve learned that hard times don’t have to hold you back—they can push you forward. Taking this step proved to them (and to myself) that it’s never too late to rewrite your story.

Becoming a real estate agent has been one of the most rewarding decisions of my life. I love helping people find their homes and sharing in their excitement during such a special moment. I genuinely care about my clients and want the very best for them. My own home-buying experiences have taught me so much, and I’m passionate about using that knowledge to guide others through the process.

What I enjoy most is meeting new people and tapping into the creative side of real estate through marketing, especially finding unique ways to showcase properties and connect with potential buyers. It’s fulfilling to meet new clients, build relationships, and make what can be a stressful experience as smooth and enjoyable as possible.

Along with being a real estate agent, I am also the community organizer for the Clarkston Coalition for Youth, a non-profit organization in our community. I am passionate about raising awareness for mental health and substance abuse issues affecting our youth. This role allows me to connect with families, provide resources, and create impactful programs that make a difference in young lives. It’s incredibly rewarding to know that the work we do can help kids who may be struggling while also empowering parents to foster open communication at home. One of the most fulfilling aspects of this work is involving my own children in our efforts, teaching them the importance of community engagement and showing them how they can contribute to meaningful change.

Working in real estate and with the Coalition has given me the chance to build meaningful connections within the community. By partnering with others in both fields, I can help bring important resources to those who need them most, whether it’s raising awareness about mental health, offering support for substance abuse prevention, or simply connecting people with services that can make a difference in their lives.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Looking back, three qualities that had the most impact on my journey were resilience, adaptability, and a willingness to learn. Resilience helped me push through moments of doubt and fear, especially when transitioning from a stay-at-home mom to a gymnastics coach and later to a real estate agent. Adaptability let me embrace new opportunities, even when they felt out of my comfort zone, and that’s how I found a career I truly love. Being open to learning has been key—it’s how I’ve grown my skills and learned to better help my clients. I’ve also realized it’s okay to ask for help, lean on others, and ask questions—that’s how you figure things out. For anyone starting out, trust yourself, stay open to new opportunities, and don’t be afraid to learn as you go. It’s never too late!

Looking back over the past 12 months or so, what do you think has been your biggest area of improvement or growth?

Over the past 12 months, my biggest area of growth has been building my self-esteem and learning to face my fears. Taking steps toward goals that once felt overwhelming has been empowering, and it’s helped me feel more confident and optimistic about the future. I’ve also made significant progress in finding tools to manage my ADD, which has been a game-changer in balancing work and running a household. Learning how to stay organized and prioritize has not only improved my productivity but has also brought more balance and peace to my life. It’s been a year of personal growth.
